Superb TV for the price, Roku software is great for a bedroom TV.
I bought this TV for the bedroom and initially looked at similar 32" TVs from other brands, Sharp, JVC, Hisense, LG etc. I went to a local TV retailer and saw this TCL TV alongside the others and the picture was noticeably better, I then saw this was a 1080P screen whereas the others are 720P. I wanted the Roku version specifically as we have a Roku on our main TV and we are familiar with it. The local store only had the Amazon Fire version of this TV so ironically I ended up buying the Roku version instead from Amazon! The 1080P screen is excellent, and is noticeably much better than the other 720P screens on offer. Initially it looked a little dull but I realised that was because it was set to 'Power saving' mode by default. Once set to one of the other modes (there is movie, sport, auto etc) it looks perfect. The viewing angle is fine for our use and the contrast from blacks to bright scenes is more than adequate. The sound is, again, more than good enough. We have it set to 22 (out of presumably 100?) and it is loud enough without any distortion. It doesn't have huge bass which is to be expected but it also doesn't sound noticeably tinny to the point that I feel I should get a soundbar even when watching films. Of course, if this was the main TV in the lounge then it would perhaps need some more punch. You can fit a soundbar either though an optical connection or using the HDMI (Arc) port on the TV. It seems it will sync powering everything on with the one remote which is nice. The Roku software is very good. We have a Roku on our main TV and when setting this one up I just put in my Roku login details and it configured everything the same as the main Roku. All my channels were automatically installed and configured so I could just use this new TV exactly the same way as the other one. One of the other reasons I wanted the Roku software on this TV was that you can use the Roku app on your mobile phone to control the TV and you can also use headphones paired with your phone to listen to the TV. This is perfect for a bedroom TV where you might want to watch later in the evening and use headphones to keep the noise down. I don't think the other TV operating systems offer this feature so that steered me to Roku. Having the Roku software built-in to the TV along with decent enough sound through the speakers means I can run this TV with just the power cable out the back - no other wires, boxes etc cluttering-up the place. This is very nice in the bedroom where you don't want loads of tech paraphernalia. TCL seem to be a reasonably good brand when compared to the other options at this price point. If I was getting a 65" OLED then I would perhaps look at LG, Sony etc but for a 32" TV they seem to be ticking all the boxes. The screen is better than the other brands I looked at, the sound is more than good enough unless you want huge room-filling bass, the reliability of TCL seems to be better than many other big brands from the research I did, the price is less than a lot of the other options as well. It comes with a 2 year warranty which is enough for me. At this price if it dies after the 2 years I would still consider it a worthwhile purchase - although I do not expect that to happen judging by the reviews and technical assessments I have seen online. All in all, I would highly recommend this TV especially for a bedroom or if you want to use headphones while watching.

Good quality for the price!
Lovely T & so easy to set up. Volume was quiet until I plugged in my TV box. If you don't have a TV box then I would recommend buying a sound bar.

Great TV/damaged during delivery
A brilliant TV let down by Amazon delivery. As far as the TV goes the sound and picture quality is genuinely brilliant, for this price point I was not expecting the clarity you get. I've had Hisense TVs in the past and what with being cheap the sound is rather quiet and the picture being a bit hit or miss. One thing I will say up front is - if you are using this TV for terrestrial TV watching only the picture quality will be horrible. This TV is geared around streaming online content 1080p and upwards - definitely, 100% preferably 4k content. At that resolution this TV shines. It's simply down to how the TV encodes the image. It's not built for SD content. It's an extremely light TV so wall mounting was a breeze. This is my first Roku TV but have gotten used to the operating system & functionality of it, I've had no issues with it being laggy. I'm going to mark it down for the delivery though as it arrived with a sizeable dent in the top frame which is a real shame as I love this TV but all I can see when I look at it is the damage caused whilst in transit with Amazon or DPD (both were involved with the delivery). In closing - a fantastic TV, awesome picture, brilliant sound, damaged and let down by Amazon/DPD. A real shame, I will decide in the coming days if I will return it for a replacement. ***I have decided to return the item as the damage found upon opening it just bothers me far too much, and you can see slightly discoloured bars going up the screen obviously where it's taken a sizeable knock somewhere in transit.

Cheap but cheerless.
Updated from 2 to 1 star after using for a few weeks of (attempted) use. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE OTHER REVIEWS. * Picture quality is ok for the price : though noticeable edge bleed and refresh rate issues and screen tear. * Sound is awful : Think your first gen smartphones on max volume. * Performance is shocking : It takes ages to turn on and even longer to do anything, this has already slowed down noticeably after a few weeks. * Functionality, non existent : No major UK apps available, think iPlayer, itv, C4, 5 etc. entirely unacceptable for a 'smart TV with android app store support. I thought initially maybe that's just what you get for a TV at this price point nowadays, but having since tried some others that cost about the same, it's evident you can do much better. It'll be going back. (I spent a long time going back and forth with TCL support about UK app support, and after several evasive answers they finally confirmed they would not be implementing support for any of the above apps on this model. Thier suggested solution was to purchase one of their more expensive models.)
