Electrolux EXP12HN1W6 Heat and Cool 4-in-1 Portable Air Conditioner, 12 kg, 12 W, White

Bought to replace my old AC unit which stopped working. This unit is a lot quieter than my old unit and cools down the room very quickly. It's one of the pricier models but worth it.

Edit; Heat function randomly doesn't turn on. Seems to be first thing in the mornings, when it's needed the most! 5* to 3* for that reason. Edit 2; Down to 1* as the heating function doesn't seem to work at all when it's too cold. That's somewhat the point of needing the heating....... I have this in my log cabin. It's 4x5m. I purchased it recently when temps hit 30c and the cabin became a sauna. So far I'm really impressed. It's not hugely loud. I use my cabin as a home office and I'm on the phone alot. I wouldn't say it distracts enough to bother. I created an exhaust hole in the back right corner and I sit on the left side. When the a.c. unit is over in the back right corner I wouldn't say I'm 'cool' but I am comfortable. Luckily the hose extends a good 1.5 m so I drag I face the a.c. unit towards me and move it a bit closer. Tilt the fan with the controls and it definitely feels better. I need to add I also don't have any blinds at the moment and 3 huge windows with glass doors so my cabin is under all the right conditions to be ridiculously hot. If I stand right in front of the unit I cool down immediately. I imagine when I get blinds I'd be great. Ironically we also had a cold day in the summer recently and put the heating on. Meaning I had the opposite issue.. the cabin was an igloo. Very surprised how warm the cabin got within a few minutes. Overall. Easy setup. Good features. Definitely recommend.

This unit is very noisy if you are running it close to your desk and sat next to it all day. It also requires a hose pipe fitting to the back to drain the condensate which is not very convenient. There are other units that re-vaporise the condensate and send it out through the exhaust, which is a bit of a must have. I have got round this by simply plugging the hose pipe hole with the stopper and it seems to function ok, but this is not in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and will not work on humid days. This unit does however cool the room well and is still working after running it 8 hours per day for about 100 days in total since it was purchased in 2016.

The window attachment does not fit upvc outward opening windows, it is a lot louder than a standard oscillating fan but it’s a small price to pay, it dramatically chills the room and is a god send in this heat.

Maybe I had unrealistic expectations or maybe I received a bad unit but this thing struggled to cool a medium sized room by even 1 degree. The air coming out of it is coolish and I've tried following through all the troubleshooting steps. If I can't make it work better I'm going to return it. Edit: I returned it, be careful as you will have to pay towards shipping due to it's weight.
