Well that was a worthwhile purchase! We are plagued with "cluster flies" every autumn as they come into our loft to hibernate for the winter. In previous years we culled them with smoke bombs but the problem was they dies and fell into the insulation and couldn't be hoovered up to be disposed. Loft insulation looks like an eccles cake now! Loft became a no go zone for my wife.Bought this two weeks ago and plugged it in with a smart plug to come on 1 hour after sunrise and off 1 hour before sunset to coincide with the time the flies are active and flying around. It also meant we wouldn't be kept awake by intermittent zaps in the loft. As others suggested I spread a light plastic sheet under the fraxinus Fly and Insect Killer to catch the flying carcasses! See the first photo.1st day - we heard no zaps - nothing at all! and the loft was hiving with flies. Most disappointed and thought I'm going to have to return this thing. Thought I let it run for a week to see and when I went up to check and was greeted with the sheet covered in dead flies [photo 2] and I took a close up of the Fraxinus Fly and Insect Killer. It was thick with the carcasses of many many flies. As I was cleaning up the plastic sheet and emptying the catch tray [cant see my wife ever doing this!] a fly flew into the grill and it buzzed gently with lightning zapping though it. I tried unsuccessfully to get a video to demonstrate. There were too few flies left to fly into the thing! The gentle buzzing made us think it wasn't working as we couldn't hear it in the bedrooms.Can I recommend the Fraxinus Fly and Insect Killer - absolutely - it kills flies at a tremendous rate and has solved our cluster fly problem. It does leave a degree of carnage to clear up but thats a small price to pay for a loft clear of the pests. We wont need to take our xmas tree outside to shake the flies out of it before putting it up this year!!Cracking!

We are open plan with huge bifold doors, backing onto fields so we can attract plenty of bugs! We usually have a fly curtain up but they're a bit of a bind so haven't during the latest heatwave.A previous purchase of a different type of trap (a rounded version) was a huge disappointment.In the last few days, we've caught more flies than that one did all last summer!This model is nice and compact. Looks and feels well made. Not the very cheapest but still value for money.So far, so good.

This fly killer does not attract and kill normal house flies like we get in summer in the UK. It killed a couple of big blue bottles but just burned them, making a horrible noise and smell. All my house flies avoided it and carried on being a complete nuisance.

Works as expected. Would recommend. The build and quality are excellent and it's easy to use. It's a good size for our living room. It came with an extra bulb. The brightness is very good.

Great product

This is the second one I have purchased, this second purchase is an upgrade from the 4000v-4200v. because of its performance in keeping the pesky insects under control and the lowered price I felt although the first one failed within 18 months, I can only assume this upgraded one might also breakdown within the same time period, so I've given this Fraxinus Fly Zapper a 3.5 out of 5 stars, as the first Failed to Switch on after 18 months.I purchased first Electric Fly Zapper back in May 18th 2024, It gave up working, failing to turn back on in January 9th 2026. Tubes where getting a little darkened within this period but whilst it was still working, the fluorescent blue light was still very bright and still attracting the insects into the high voltage trap. Very disappointing to see that this item had failed within 18 months, approximately 600 days.I don't think this item comes with any more then 12 months warranty, something you might want to check out before you purchase. I felt the first purchase was Pretty reasonably priced at £40 so 600 days that equants to 0.06 pence per day, whilst it lasted. Its a shame it couldn't soldiered on and served a little longer. I decided to give this product the benefit of the doubt. If this second purchase out lives the first ill jump back on this review and update my star rating.

Works well, seems to attract flies better than or other zapper. Also takes out mosquitoes and smaller fruit flies. Still working well purchased 5 months ago. Large flies sometimes do not die on the first zap but are trapped and either die in the bottom tray or end there days getting a second zap. Move the zapper around the house nice portable size. More than happy with the kill ratio.

The product looks good and as far as tested it works well.Not all the mosquitos were killed and had to kill also by hand.
