Tense, nail-biting, visceral horror
Love this game, and as other reviewers have pointed out, it feels so realistic and believable. The environment's are gorgeous with typical clutter and everyday paraphenalia. The setting off the cost of Scotland and thick Scottish accents, ands to the palpable atmosphere. Its so claustrophobic, and it isn't always obvious as to which way you need to go. I died several times whilst being chased by some monstrous creature. Its an utterly absorbing life and death drama and worth every penny,

Good but not overly scary
A good game for those who are a bit wary about horror games. Story follows protagonist Caz McLeary, a young electrician who had himself placed on an oil rig called the Beira to hide out from the police in Glasgow where he is wanted for a drunk pub brawl. Immediately after being sacked, before Caz can even leave the rig, a catastrophic event happens leaving many dead and injured - Caz is one of the surviving crew who must make his way through the rig and find a way to escape and get back to his wife and children. Thoughts: The Beira rig is realistically rendered, crafted with such amazing attention to detail that it feels so much like it COULD be a real place. The Location both makes you feel as if you are lost in the middle of nowhere miles from anything and also, trapped in a maze of endless claustrophobic tunnels, pipe and corridors. The “monsters” are an interesting take on what you’d expect - this isn’t a zombie game, more something in the vein of something perhaps Lovecraftian. For those who detest jump scares, the game gives you fair warning you’re actually close to these creatures, as a “film burn” effect at the edge of the screen that becomes more apparent the closer you are will tip you off how likely you are to see one. Unlike a lot of horror games, there’s no real battle scenes here, it’s all about escape, you don’t need weapons or strategies, you just need to be fast and decent at quick time events and button mashing. Gore is pretty minimal for anyone wondering. I loved the game, however I feel like there could have been some more to do in the actual game itself. There’s very little to find in the way of exploration - a few scarce letters and notes here and there is about all there is. It’d have been nice to find some back story about other characters, As it is, there’s no “collectibles”, no “optional scenes with NPCs”, no alternate endings - it’s a sort of linear story. Voice acting and dialogue is VERY good, as a Scot myself, it was refreshing to see so many characters voiced by actual Scottish actors (Clive Russell and Karen Dunbar to name a few), and the banter and reactions to events are very apt and realistic (you’ll hear many a Scottish insult muttered under Caz’s breath and lots of slang used correctly and naturally. This is no Scottish story with American actors using bad “groundskeeper Willie” accents. For anyone not British, I recommend using subtitles although even subtitles have the slang and dialect written in them occasionally. I can’t wait to see what this developer comes Up with next, am very impressed so far. It would have been a five star game it it had more in it. It’s a huge location but with very little to find.

Interesting story and some good twists
Entertaining story and several different endings, depending on in game choices. Good game and not a monster time commitment to complete.

Cracking game.. amazing value for money
The first thing you notice is the rich and detailed environment. Then people start talking and the story is great and the voice acting is on point. Then the sci Fi horror creeps in and it explodes to life with this Alan Wake / Control feel which I loved. I like the way there are no weapons, it’s just a survival game against the odds and it’s just fun to play. Only small gripe is the random objects on the floor which you can pick up.. there is always more even if you turn around and go back the way you came, they have magically appeared. lol but it’s a small detail and doesn’t take away from the game.

One of the most genuinely exciting, and fun horror game live found in recent time. Would absolutely recommend it. And playing it in Scottish gaelic was fun for an achievements run as well.
