Review: Pretty good trail cam option - I've decided to rewrite the review after further experience with the device and the company. I discovered that this camera does function relatively well as a trail cam, with some limitations. I've also added a star for great customer service. I'll update if I have issues. Pros.. - Uses your own sim card with no other monthly costs. While data cost can vary, I found a data card with 2GB/month for about $5/month and I only have to buy data 6 months at a time to get that deal. Sales on data vary, but I don't expect to pay over $6/month which currently buys 5GB/month which is probably twice what I would ever use. 2GB/month might be close if you and a buddy are checking the camera too often. - The camera produces up to 4k video (compared to "claimed" 2.5k of others), although, I typically use the lowest resolution to save data. But the higher resolution is there if i need it. - It comes with EIOT club SIM card, but I found other, less expensive options. - The camera is relatively simple to set up and use, (with the exception of the sim card). I did run into an issue where I had to reset the camera which required an inconvenient trip into the field, but it was an easy fix otherwise. - Depending on data needs, the device can be more economical compared to other trail cameras. I'm looking at $5-8/month vs $12-20/month for dedicated trail PTZ cameras. At one time, a 24month/50GB kiwi sim card was on sale for around $110. The kiwi website has similar sales at least initially, and you can purchase a 1GB 30 day card for $4-5 on desertcart to get started. For comparison, Spypoint charges $10/month for unlimited "photos" when you pay by the year. To be fair, these data cards are not "unlimited", but 2-3 GB/month should get you a LOT of video/pictures. - There is no limit on the number of videos as long as you have data. In other words, you see everything as long as you get it close enough to the action. There are times I get up to 2 dozen 10 second videos but only one, maybe 2 pics from my spypoint. The video really make a HUGE difference on what you see. For instance, the SpyPoint may have only picked up one or two animals when there were 5 to 15 that actually came thru. This is actually a really big deal when you see the difference. - You can see real time views of the field at ANY time....nice.. - You can set up notifications to know when there is activity. So you can nap while hunting...lol. - You can use it to see in the dark when night hunting and/or turn on the light if needed. I have discovered that the light rarely bothers the critters. The IR light obviously does not. - The rechargeable/solar setup means, no batteries to change out. Mine is set up in trees with limited direct sunlight, and so far, I've never seen it go below 90%. Most of the time, it stays around 100%. Not having the cost and inconvenience of changing batteries is a big plus. - You can share the device with your hunting buddies at no cost. However, they will be using data which could end up costing you a little more. In my initial field test, me and another guy used a little over 1GB in 20-25 days with semi regular viewing. Based on that experience, I think we could get by with 2 GB per month and see everything we want to see. - Connecting to and staying connected the camera is way more consistent than other trail ptz cameras that I have tried. - So far, the lens has not fogged up like other trial cameras, particularly in the mornings. Cons: - I had a little trouble setting up the sim card, but may have been me and not the camera. - The initial cost of the camera is high compared to other advertised trail ptz cameras, but the others have much higher data costs. Regular name brand trail cams can also be expensive, but their data can be higher also. - There is no external antenna, but so far, I've been able to get a cell signal, though weak. There was only one time that I could not connect that lasted for a few hours. But my camera is in the boondocks. - The EUFY app is HUGE. I wish it wasn't so big, but it is functional and relatively easy to navigate. - The motion sensitivity is rather limited. Motion has to be relatively close to trigger a capture. The example video shows pretty much the extent of its sensitivity. (Fyi...My videos are set for 10 second intervals, but you can do more or less). As long as you know where the animals will be, sensitivity shouldn't be a problem. Dedicated trail cams (e.g. Spypoint, Moultrie) are better at picking up distant motion. The other ptz trail cams' sensitivity are similar to this one. - I wish the AI could follow animals, not just humans and vehicles, although, not really an issue. - The camera is white, not camo, but this doesn't seem to be problem for the critters, and it is easily fixed with paint or camo tape. Overall, if it lasts, I think it is a better option than most fixed trail cams and dedicated ptz trail cams because: 1) It is cheaper in the long run; based on data costs; 2) It has better resolution; 3) You see everything not just snapshots. 4) Connecting is way more consistent than other ptz cameras I've tried. It could be improved if the motion sensitivity was greater and it followed animal motion. Perhaps that may be a firmware update in the future. Nonetheless, I do think this is a good purchase and a ptz camera is a superior trail cam option... Again...I'll update if I have issues.
Review: Off grid solar coop camera, Perfect! - We use this at our off grid chicken coop /greenhouse area, works perfect! We are currently letting it run on WiFi and it’s really far from the house and working perfectly fine, we do have strong WiFi, but it’s capable of 4G LTE if needed, the videos are amazingly clear, catches everything (hawks sometimes-it will notify but hard to tell the image of a hawk because of their speed), has a super bright spotlight at night, solar powered panel, stays at 100% full almost always, easy to install, setup was fast and super easy! Exactly what we needed! Highly recommended to all!!!! Last video is about mid way from the house to the coop we are running on WiFi never had a problem so far! Glad we have that option of WiFi or LTE cell carrier connect if needed ( does cost extra for the 4G lte connect through your cell provider). The only thing it does not come with is the micro memory card keep that in mind, I would recommend purchasing at the same time it will ask for one at setup. So far it’s caught a raccoon, hawk twice, and a possum , thanks eufy happy customer

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Can I leave 10 stars?
*by A***R on February 6, 2025*

My home needs to be completely rebuilt after a fire last year and when they start I wanted a way to watch while I would be at work. No electricity at the home, so no WIFI, and I didn't really want to ask my neighbors to use their WIFI. After looking at a bunch of "game" cameras I finally found this camera and I am so glad that I did! When it arrived it came with 2 micro sim cards, one a tiny bit too large for the camera. I contacted customer service via email on this & they replied quickly, but they were unsure as well. So the unused one sits in the box still. Once the sim card is installed then just download the app to your phone and it sort of walks you through what you need to do, there are no other instructions that come with the camera. I am technically challenged but I did get through it just fine. Then I had to mount it somewhere. We have a telescoping flagpole in the front yard and I was able to rig it to that. The camera came with a mount for attaching to wood, but it had holes, so I was able to use wire to attach it to the pole. Same with the solar panel. So it worked out well, even though it's a little bit crooked. It would be great if EUFY sold a mount that could fit around a round flagpole, and maybe they do, I never did ask. Once mounted and using the app I turned on the camera and am so pleased by the quality of the image! However it was always running in the background of my phone and I left it on all the time. So literally within 3 days the data that came with the sim card completely ran out and I had to buy more. Through the app I paid approx $13 for 2 MB of additional data that would last for 30 days. Then I decided to keep the camera OFF until I wanted to take a look at it. So that data lasted all month, and really I hardly used it. But then it expired at 30 days so I had to buy more. The app sent a couple of messages near the end of the 30 days and I just bought more. There are all sorts of options to choose from as far as purchasing data as well, not just 2 MB or 30 days, there are all sorts of plans. If you're using this camera for constant security or to watch for wildlife you will go through data quite a bit. But if you just want to take a look now and again do what I do and simply turn it off and on again when you want. I did ask customer service how to slow down usage when on, and they are very helpful, but for me this was the easiest way. The camera will rotate almost all the way around as well as tilt down. And the quality is so good I can read the names on the sides of trucks that are in my driveway. Photos are of my front yard, not sure why I couldn't find "front yard" in the app, but I'm sure that was just user error. Even at night it works great using a light on the front of the camera. See photos. I'm thrilled with this camera and I highly recommend it and plan to purchase another one for the backyard as well.
