The Food Medic for Life: Easy recipes to help you live well every day : Wallace, Dr Hazel: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Easy to follow and delicious from start to finish! - Having followed Hazel's blog for quite a while now, I knew that I was a fan of her style of cooking and easy to whip up recipes which taste delicious! Sometimes you run out of ideas for new things to cook, and having someone like Hazel who knows what she's talking about and wants to share some delicious food with you only makes life easier! I've only had the book a week or so and have already tried a handful of recipes: the pesto cod, banana and choco chip pancakes, goats cheese and roasted veg salad, and the chickpea and red pepper curry - delicious! For a university student on the go these recipes are ideal, and the book is full of nuggets of information around the diet myths and which foods really provide our nutrients. I also LOVE the way the book is divided into during the week meal prep when you're short for time, and slow down cooking for the weekends when you want to enjoy your cooking / baking. How has no one else thought to do this before?? It's exactly how most of us cook! No fuss recipes, simple ingredients and really tasty results have me feeling like a proper home chef - thank you Hazel, from one Irishwoman to another! xxx Review: A must have cookbook - My favourite cookbook. Since buying this during the summer, I have turned to it every week and, without fail, the recipes have been delicious. We especially love the banana pancakes, the miso salmon and the bish bash bosh chicken bake. The layout is fantastic, with quick midweek meals and longer weekend recipes, which is how most people actually cook! Packed breakfast and lunch ideas are very welcome and I love Hazel's blog/Instagram for more of these ideas too. Absolutely love this book, highly recommend for anyone looking for simple, healthy and delicious food!

... mainly cut out meats and focus on all the good nutrition from vegetables
I decided to purchase this book due to finding myself in a critical medical situation and post operation my diet needed to change completely which meant that I had to mainly cut out meats and focus on all the good nutrition from vegetables, nuts, fruits and also fish. I thought that purchasing Dr Wallace's book may be a stepping stone in helping guide me in the right direction with my foods and also give me plenty of ideas for all different yummy recipes and indeed it did deliver on all of the above. The recipes are super easy to make and not only that, they are super yummy and full of goodies. I must say that I did enjoy ALL of the write up in the book as it educated me on what I should be eating more of and what to avoid. I am looking forward to my long and future journey of making yummy, easy and good quality food. This is without a doubt one of the best recipe books that I have bought.

Loved this!
This book is brilliant. I tend to exaggerate so as much as I want to say ‘this changed my life’, it hasn’t - but it’s made me feel healthy, happy and like I can persevere with my diet in a nutritious and enjoyable way. I am not brilliant at finding healthy alternatives to everyday meals, so I tended to eat simple but probably not nutritious meals because I was feeling guilty if I added anything I deemed as ‘unhealthy’. But what I was really after were simple ideas and recipes that are healthy, nutritious and simple to make - and this book gives me just that. Of course, taken with a pinch of salt because not everything is super healthy, but it gave me exactly what I was after. I struggled with things like simple lunches that didn’t involved bread, and snacks or treats for the evening that wasn’t boring dark chocolate. Again, the salad pots and hazelnut balls have been massive game changers! To summarise, I found this book brilliant. It’s got ideas for workout drinks after the gym, protein snacks for an energy boost, as well as healthy vegetarian options when not feeling like meat, and simple treats which don’t make me feel guilty. I’ve had this Book for about 8 days now and I’ve made something new everyday from each section and cannot believe how simple and tasty a few deliberate ingredients can be. I’m so happy and feeling brilliant!

Simple and effective. Perfect for breakfast and lunch meal preparation for work!
A fab second book, which is always tricky to follow up from a great first book but Dr Wallace has done it again. Explaining why we need what and why and how we can get the vitamins/minerals from the appropriate food groups. One of the things I like about the book is again like the first, is that the recipes are easy to follow. They don’t break the bank; in fact quite the opposite and if meal prep right you can make many meals using similar ingredients. If you follow her on social media, she also gives other recipes and exercises. Carry on the fab work Dr. You’re hard work is paying off and hopefully medics of your generation and those that follow will understand too that nitrition is so important for our own health.

Highly recommended!
I've had this book for just over a week now and I've made 7 of the recipes already: this is more use than some of the cookbooks that have been sat on my shelf for years! Reasons why I love this book: -almost all the ingredients are things I would normally have in my house or I can get on my normal weekly shop -the recipes are designed to be super quick to do or easily pre-prepared -the meals are complete and filling (there are carbs!!) -the book is dotted with evidence-based advice on maintaining good general health without being condescending -it isn't a faddy diet book (we don't need any more!) -everything I've make so far is super tasty I've followed Hazel on Instagram for a while and I'm really happy that this book reflects the positive, helpful, evidence-based and attainable advice and guidance she gives on there. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to inject some good, healthy eating into their diet without spending hours in the kitchen or breaking the bank.

Libro scritto con chiarezza, prima parte dedicata agli alimenti e ai singoli ingredienti e seconda parte dedicata invece alle ricette. Di facile lettura, ricette ottime!

Love love love this book - I bought it a few months ago and I make at least one (though often more) thing from it weekly. I love the simplicity of the recipes while providing a diversity of delicious flavors. Perfect for my meals to bring to work, dinners and occasional treats. There are also portions of the book that go deeper into nutrition and health, while remaining easy to understand by those who are not familiar with nutrition. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase :)
