The history of one of the best British Bands
I simply love watching old Black Sabbath videos and this DVD has an excellent selection of live footages shot at concert venues and TV studios. Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler tell the story of the Sabs in between the video clips. Most of the stories are extremely funny, so it is worth concentrating on them. Cozy Powell and their old manager adds some more intriguing details to Tony and Geezer's stories, so even the extras should be watched.Enjoy and play it loud!

A good DVD on a quality band. Not the most in depth you will get, but never the less if you like Sabbath this is for you.

Brummies rule the world
Wayback when I went to see Sabbath in 197* at Mayfair Ballroom in The Bullring Birmingham (England) There was scant lighting and the band had to walk through the crowd to get to the stage and couldn't get off for the encore. Volume 4 had just been released and it was brilliant and I've the photos to prove it. The video manages to capture some of the raw energy and agression that was Sabbath. The audience, particularly in Brum, believed in 'Generals gathered...' and 'hand of doom'.. and 'Children of the Grave'. In the early seventies there still could have been WWIII, raining down on rows of terraced houses in the back of Birmingham. I wore my CND badge, as we did.Sabbath summed it all up.Get this video and ask yourself how a butchers apprentice, a guitarist with his fingers chopped off, a guitarist who played bass and probably one of the best drummers ever ever ever, all completely just Brummies caught up in something they didn't understand. Some of the footage speaks a thousand words.

Ozzy in his prime.
I have got to say, since I was 5 years of age I loved black sabbath. I used to put my fathers Sabbath records and endlessly listen to classics like War Pigs, Iron Man, Fairies Wear Boots, Snowblind, The Warning, Sabbra Cadabra, Children of the Grave and many others. We had all of the first Sabbath records (appart from Volume 4, which was on CD) up to Ozzy's departure. This DVD outlines some of the most popular songs. These are the foundations of Hard Rock and as such, every heavy metal fan should own this, even if you don't like Black Sabbath. The only thin about that I don't like is the fact that it is very short and doesn't contain all of Sabbath's best songs. Still it is classic Metal at its best. But it now!!!

an exellent dvd for sabbath fans
black sabbath story vol 1 is an exellent dvd that focuses on the classic sabbath line up of ozzy, bill ,geezer and tony.there is interviws from tony and geezer but none from bill or ozz wich is a shame, but the stunning live performances more than make up for it. the first time i heard warpigs on this dvd it was unbalevable the power of the song, especially ozzys voice.some of the live performances arnt quite as good, but they all capture the raw edge and spellbinding power of the origanal heavy metal band. Sabbath fans buy immedatly.
