We bought this to replace an old Bosch iron. Which recommend other Philips irons but most weigh about 2kg.(DST7020). This iron is lighter at 1.2 kg as was the Bosch and we wanted an iron of similar weight because hand arthritis. It is an older model with a ceramic plate which apparently is less resistant to scratches but glides better. It works well and not expensive . Very good steam output. .It has no automatic turn off but has steam boost and spray. Heavier irons are said to be better for removing creases although this iron does well at removing creases. As with all Philips irons, this one is excellent. Not too heavy for my arthritic hands and easy to fill and empty the water tank. The only downside is that when filling the tank its not easy to gauge the water level because the material is a very dark blue....other than that I'm very pleased with it, but maybe a little design tweaking would resolve the problem.
