Designz3D Yubikey Protector Flip Case Keychain Holder (5 NFC / 5C NFC) (Blue, 5C NFC)

This is absolutely excellent. Dust is the enemy of electronics, and this Protector Flip Case is perfect for keeping dust out of the Yubikey connector so that it will continue to operate normally. Additionally, it comes in a variety of great colors and also is very convenient to use as a keychain. An outstanding product which I highly recommend, at an excellent price!

Works to give basic protection for a Yubikey which is what I needed. Appears to be 3D printed, but feels dense so no worries about it breaking. Fit the Yubikey well - actually fairly snug where you kind of need to push on the indent side to get the key to flip out a bit. Not designed to protect against water (as expected), but I'm not worried about damaging my key if I have it in my pocket.

So I thought there were 5 of those cases for over $10, as it stated $2.20 per count. I was wrong it's only one poorly printed thick case. You guys could at least clean it from fibers which were all over the place. Though it does fit the key , I feel like the price is too high for that product.

Okay, Ive had this item for all but one hour. Just to disclaim. I also want to point out that I got this to protect my yubikey from damage as I keep it on my keychain in my pocket with all my other metal keys scratching up against it all the time. The item seems sturdy to me; the plastic is pretty thick and I do not believe it will break any time soon. That said, this is a simple 3-D printed item that anyone with access to a printer could make. A solid chunk of plastic that comes with a metal keychain ring. The item was well packaged and delivered promptly. Functionally, although I absolutely do believe the item can and will protect my yubikey from any shock, blows, scratching and other damage the key may be subjected to, all that is contingent on the yubikey actually being inside the hard plastic casing the item provides. Obviously. The problem is, nothing keeps it inside the casing. The yubikey is free to rotate out at the slightest gust of wind. Gravity within your pocket will pull the key out of the casing. Any shocks and blows that could damage the yubikey will surely knock it out of the protective casing, so Im not sure I'm getting much. Is it possible I got a faulty item? Sure, I guess so, but its not like there is a lot here that can go wrong and it doesnt appear to be damaged. Id be willing to guess that the designers of this product never actually tested it for practical use. Unless you are hyper conscientious of how you place your keychain in your pocket, and routinely check, which in my mind defeats the purpose and adds a stresser it was meant to prevent, youre kind of wasting your money on this. All youre effectively doing is adding weight and bulk to your keychain with little protective value. Now, a simple fix could be improvised, imo. A thin bit of plastic or a few layers of tape on the inside of the item could add enough resistance to motion to keep the yubikey inside the casing. But that is added work I dont think anyone here wants. Im going to go ahead and give this item the benefit of the doubt and call it a version1 product, and I will give three stars because, well, it does what it says it will do if you use it "right" (not that you have much choice), and its not like I paid a heck of a lot for it, and because Ive only had it an hour so I dont want to be too harsh yet. Its the sort of high quality you can expect from amazon.com, which is why I dont buy here much.

After having invested the time and effort to acquire and configure my YubiKey, I wanted something to add a layer of additional protection while carrying it on my keyring. This case delivers exactly that and more. The case completely encases the YubiKey which makes carrying the YubiKey much more discrete than having the YubiKey exposed for all to see. The case also prevents the YubiKey from being exposed to additional wear and tear from being on a keyring with metal keys and other things that might rub against while in your pocket and when getting tossed around. The NFC YubiKey can be read right through the case making it unnecessary to swivel the YubiKey out from the enclosed case. When I do need to plug my YubiKey into my computer, swiveling it out of the case is as easy as gently pushing it out through the notched area of the case. I do want to point out that this case is only designed for the YubiKeys with the USB-C connector. The YubiKeys with the USB-A connector are thinner than the USB-C version by about 1mm. This 1mm difference is enough to cause USB-A YubiKeys to swivel in and out of the case all by themselves. If you are purchasing this for a YubiKey USB-A version, you might want to wrap some tape around the base of the YubiKey to add some thickness to it to prevent the YubiKey from unexpectedly swiveling out of the case. Great product, I highly recommend!

No instructions given how to attach key ring. Also there is no way to open the key ring wide enough to fit it in between the yubikey and the holder

I just received this product and the yubikey doesn't fit in it. I would have to force it in. Without excessive pressure the tip of the Yubikey remains exposed which defeats the whole purpose of the holder. This product is clearly 3d printed I suggest that the sellers test his product before shipping to his customers.
