It can be an annoying aspect of an electric lighter. This one has a vertical cross-dual arc electric fire with open-sides (I'm very bad at describing it). Which is a very interesting design, I can see that there's less chance for ashes to get in the path way after long use. So far, it's working well. They also have a horzitonal cross-dual arc electric flame; you'd encounter the issue I'm talking about with that. Horizontal cross-dual arc can be blocked by ashes that get into their pathways from frequent burning near the arc.
