I love the Texas native (tiny) pecans. They taste better than the huge pecans, and they seem to not break apart like the big ones do in shipping. I soak these in salt water (with some milk kefir to ferment them) for a few days and then dehydrate them, so the small pecans are beneficial for this because they dry out quicker. All this being said, who knows how long a package has sat in an desertcart warehouse, or if the package got punctured...? Maybe I got lucky but mine were fresh and really good. But some of these recent reviews about rancid / old / etc pecans concerns me. (Note that I used to get pecans from a different company on desertcart but I kept getting rancid, mummified pecans from them starting in 2025, so that is why I switched to this company). Just putting this out there, but you can order these direct from the company (go look for website). There was a big price discount the first time I ordered so I went with desertcart, but that has disappeared. If you order direct, you probably will have a much better chance of getting fresh pecans.
