This is the same concentration as namebrand T-Gel. After one use dandruff went away scalp relief happened. My hair became soft and I did not need the conditioner. The soap is moisturizing definitely cause dandruff reduction and will continue using if you’re looking for a quick healthy way to reduce dandruff and psoriasis to your scalp. This is a good one. It does, however, have a strong tar smell so if you are sensitive to the smell or you don’t like it, you may not enjoy that. The smell does not linger however, once your hair is dry and air it out the smell is gone unless you put your nose down in it and sniff your scalp the smell does not bother me so I did not remove any stars for this.

I hate to say it because this product literally smells like gasoline but it works perfectly. My scalp has never been better after using this product for a month. The dandruff/itchiness has almost completely gone away. I can’t emphasize enough how badly it smells. Like 10x worse than regular t-gel. I tried shampooing twice with a different shampoo after use and my hair still stunk. Once my hair dries I can’t smell it anymore but if you are sensitive to smells then that is definitely something to consider.

So far so good with this cold tar anti-dander shampoo. I recently developed a small patch of psoriasis on the top corner of my head and it came out of nowhere. Coal tar seemed to be the recommended treatment for sudden psoriasis. I must say after using it just a couple of washes I did put it directly on that part of my scalp and then let it sit there for a little bit so the active ingredient could work into the scalp. After just a couple of washes all the flakes and scales were gone. I do have to keep up with it. I'm still using it, not every shampoo but maybe once a week, and that seems to have everything under control. Also I don't think that the smell is that bad. I know that some people think that it's really strong. I really don't find it to be bothersome. I mean it's really not bad at all and I don't smell it after I rinse it out either way. It doesn't stay in the hair so I would definitely recommend it. This is a really good amount for a fair price compared to pretty much anything else out there so since it works I see no reason not to grab this one.

Ive tried all sorts of shampoos for my scalp psoriasis, including prescription but this is the only one that keeps it under control. It lathers well and you need to let it sit for 5 or 10 minutes then rinse. It does have a strong odor but I dont notice after my hair is dry. You're also not supposed to use it daily but even the prescription shampoos are like that. The Amazon brand is just like the Neutrogena brand but costs less. Luckily I only have a small area on my scalp and this works great. My hair feels a little weird after rinsing but seems fine when dried and styled.

I am so pleased with this product. Of course you have to tolerate the tar smell but it does dissipate. It is very concentrated. A little goes a long way. I keep it on my scalp for several minutes before rinsing it and it’s very effective.

Did a very vigorous and generous lather first wash, and instantly noticed results after drying and wearing.Was actually able to shed a lot of stuck on dead skin, and scalp feels like it is breathing a lot better- will need to use scalp massager for full results once my broken up scalp heals and stops bleeding/oozing pus, but it is really a start after that first wash and I'm quite happy with the results. Currently fighting infections on my head, and this has been giving me a lot of relief. The smell people are referring to, to me, smells like permanent marker, and really is not bothersome to me. However, in other coal tar shampoo products, I have had issues with just not wanting that smell in my hair despite washing previously. I am not having that with this product, and appreciate that. Nobody in my house has complained about the smell, either.

Bought this for a friend that had flakes because of dry scalp. Stopped using a dander shampoo and changed to this shampoo, it worked wonderfully, no more flakes from dry skin.

Equal to brand name Neutrogena. Does the job on keeping the scalp healthy (don't have any pre-existing skin condition so can't speak to that. But coal tar is supposed to be great for scalp conditions). Will dry out hair if this is your main shampoo; you'll need a good conditioner after.
