The propane alarm keept going off in my camp trailer. I bought the detector and it found the leak. All fixed, thanks to the detector for locating the leak.

Lcm Direct Portable Gas Detector
This product works great! 100% Happy! It shipped much faster then I expected and performs exactly as described. My customers love the fact I now have multiple ways of finding if gas exists and with how precise the Lcm detector is I have more comfort. You just can't beat the price and convenience. Don't get me wrong there are other old school tried and true ways to detect gas, but in my personal opinion this just kicks it up a notch in professionalize. GREAT BUY!

I bought one of these units and like an idiot
I bought one of these units and like an idiot, tested it by putting it directly into an opened gas line for it's first test. That jacked it up and made it do the yellow light and sound thing everyone talks about. I then read the directions (should have done that first) and it said, do not place directly into an opened stream of gas with valve wide opened. Apparently this messes with the sensitivity. I ordered another one and this time followed the directions. Guess what!? The thing worked perfectly for about a year till I beat the heck out of it rolling around in my tool box. I found many leaks in that time as I am an inspector. I will be ordering another one.

DOES NOT WORK in any practical sense for Propane
The unit works--it powers up and self-calibrates. If you put it in a stream of propane it will detect it. But for any practical use -- forget it. Supposedly, you can smell 20,000 ppm...and this thing should detect 2,000 ppm (5% LEL). There's a faint smell the propane from a slow leak, but it doesn't go off. Useless if you're trying to locate a leak source.

portable gas detector
the gas detector has little screws that you remove to place a battery in it. The screws are factory stripped & I can't remove them. I have tried different methods, to no avail, so I have not been able to use it . I am a prime member & buying is very easy & shipping is great! I will probably have to return the defective propane gas detector, just haven't gotten around to it.

Sort of works...
Well, I got this little gizmo and all was well for about 5 minutes. Then the yellow LED would stay on after the warmup period. As a guy that designs things like this I couldn't resist taking it apart and seeing what was up. Oh, and there goes the warranty! It turns out that this device is prone to drift and misalignment. The engineer that designed this should have lost his job as it is very sloppy. Anyway, the fix for all of this was adjusting a small potentiometer located on the printed circuit board. You have to disassemble the product, get a small slotted screwdriver and adjust VR1 until the green LED triggers. All this after that 10 second warmup period. Due to that goofy drift issue in the design you may have to repeat this process a couple of times. My advice is to drill a hole in the plastic for easy access in future. Now the good news: After this "alignment" operation the unit does work well. I ran tests under controlled conditions and the device was able to "sniff" out small propane leaks. I was impressed. And, the best part, I was able to track down and repair a vexing propane leak in my Westfalia camper. So the upshot is it really works well after you fiddle with it. Most people will just get aggravated and send it back.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT - LIGHTENING FAST SHIPPING (RECEIVED DAY AFTER ORDERING) 5 STAR
THIS PRODUCT IS A GOOD A ONES YOU'D PAY A HUNDRED OR MORE DOLLARS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND EVERY HOME SHOULD HAVE ONE. I FOUND A STOVE AND SPACE HEATER GAS LEAK IN THE DANGER ZONE AND TOOK IMMEDIATE ACTION. GET IT NOW IF YOU USE GAS. THIS IS MY ADVICE TO YOU. YOU MAY GET USE TO SMELLING GAS AFTER A TIME AND THINK IT IS OK .... IT IS NOT!!! IT IS DANGEROUS. I WOULD NOT LIKE ANY OF YOU TO EXPERIENCE A PHYSICAL DISASTER OR TO HAVE MEDICAL PROBLEMS FROM LEAKS YOU MAY PUT OFF BECAUSE YOU ARE TOO BUSY OR THINK BAD THINGS CAN'T HAPPEN TO YOU. WINTER IS COMING ON AND YOU'LL KEEP YOUR HOUSE TIGHTER AND CLOSED TO KEEP OUT COLD AIR. THIS WILL ALSO KEEP GAS LEAKS INCREASING IN VOLUME IN YOUR HOUSE. WE TURNED OFF SPACE HEATERS THAT HAD LEAKS WHEN THE GAS IS NOT LIT. WHEN IT IS LIT, IT IS MORE SAFE BECAUSE THE GAS WILL DIVERT TO THE HEATER AND REDUCE LEAKAGE. GET IT- GET IT- GET IT. THE COST IS SO SMALL COMPARED TO YOUR SAFETY..... RIGHT!!! RIGHT! YOU MAY CONTACT ME IF YOU WISH. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE SENSITIVITY OF THIS UNIT. I THOUGHT THE LOW PRICE WOULD MAKE IT A CHEAPER UNIT --- I-WAS-WRONG !!!

Symbion LNG leak detector
I have a #100 tank that would always leak out costing me another $75.00 for a fill. I checked everywhere for leak's using my nose and soapy water. The leak's persisted until I purchased the Symbion Natural Gas leak detector. I put the batteries in and within two minutes, I located three very small gas leak's. I took everything apart and cleaned the thread's, then applying LA-CO 44094 Slic-Tite PTFE pipe tape for a tight thread seal. No more leaks. Excellent purchase. saved me a lot of money buying more propane.
