GopherHawk® Single Trap for Gophers and Moles, 1 GH-TRP

What an amazing invention! We've been using the Gopher Hawk for 5-6 years now and it's super durable. We've caught at least 8 gophers with this trap. We started with 1 trap and found we occasionally had to set it a 2nd or 3rd time to be successful. Not bad, but now that we have 2 traps, we're consistently successful on the first try every time. The traps are super easy to set, after you do it once or twice. Truly impossible to hurt yourself setting them up, which is so rare for these types of traps. As a moderately fit woman in my 50s, I can comfortably set these on my own. But I let my hubby do the cleanup. 🤣

I was just like everyone else, skeptical. But I can 100% confirm this is effective. Less than 24 hours from the time I put it in the ground, I have already caught 2 moles. & you can tell when you see yellow, which is nice that you can just look out the window. Super easy to use & made very well. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS to anyone having mole & bile problems. Worth every penny

Finally, something that actually works! This is the most incredible trap. The inventor is truly a genius. I caught one gopher in a few hours and another one overnight. I’m so impressed that I bought another one. Very easy to set. Very sturdy construction. You can’t go wrong with this trap. Next up a trip to the nursery to buy some new plants. Update… make that 5 gophers!

Living in a rural mountainous area in southern California, I am in a constant battle with gophers. I find GopherHawk traps easier to use than box-type traps. The latter require some careful excavation into the tunnel with a lot of spade work to accommodate the box and its spring mechanism while still blocking the light. I have purchased a number of GopherHawk traps, including also one probe device I use, together with larger garden stakes, to locate tunnels. You can also use the probe kit to enlarge the hole to accommodate the trap. Once you have enlarged the hole, you drop in some bait—I often use carrot chips—and then insert the trap vertically into the tunnel and cock it. When triggered, the trap pops up to show a yellow marking. I prefer the tangible evidence you get when using a trap. There are a couple of challenges to using these traps successfully. Sometimes it can take a lot of probing to find the tunnel. Also, if the tunnel is too shallow, it can be hard to insert enough of the trap into the ground to get the leverage needed for it to work successfully. But overall, I find this trap design to be superior to the other types I have tried. So far, none I have purchased have worn out despite a lot of use. I did purchase a spare cage in case one is damaged. A video seems to indicate it is pretty easy to install.

This is a GREAT product. Gophers were destroying my back yard. I tried all the remedies at home depot with no success. I was reluctant to spend the money on the Gopher Hawk but had tried everything else. I got my first gopher within the first hour. I Have since eliminated 4 addition Gophers. and I am holding good with no new activity. Follow the instructions and you will have success. it is worth every penny.

It works. Tried different traps and poison before this one, no luck. Finally bought this one, first time I set it up, nothing, then I saw a video of a young kid explaining how to set the trap. I did exactly that, and man, it worked. Got two gophers in consecutive days. The youtube video title is "How To Use the Gopher Hawk Trap Successfully", I don't think I can put the link here, but go look for it, is 2 minutes. Since the trap has a VERY STRONG mechanism, I was concern my dogs will grab it, so I had to put a fence around it. If you have kids and/or pets that may mess with it, then is not for you. When this thing goes off, it hits hard. And there's no way to disarm it, I had to use a little stick or just throw it to the ground. It is dangerous for kids and pets, be aware. PROS It works if setup correctly. Very easy to setup (just pull until click and it's armed) Has a very very strong mechanism. CONS It doesn't come with a "disarm" button/trigger. Part of it stays outside, pets or kids can get it.

This product works and you can buy it at True Value/ Ace hardware. They should get five stars, but I am giving three stars because of Amazon. Amazon was gonna take a week to come but I found it local. So I canceled the order! I went back and saw it was still coming and CANCELED AGAIN. Thought it was canceled and the mail man dropped it off today. I'll keep it; but the order was canceled 2 times. BS

Purchased may 2023. The spring trap mechanism is plenty strong enough to snare anything that trips it. The body of the Gopher hawk is built sturdy enough and placing the hawk in the ground takes some getting used to but once you have set it up in the ground a few times it becomes routine and very easy to setup and remove. I caught 7 adult gophers in 4 months with the Hawk, but it did not snare a baby gopher that was too small to trip the device as he/she would pass right through the snare without tripping it. The baby gopher would pop up on both sides of the gopher hawk using the tunnel the hawk was placed into so it's obvious it wasn't triggering the device. This thing is pretty tough to trip as the trigger takes a lot of pressure to activate. The trigger mechanism broke off after 4 months of use and catching the 7th gopher. Everything else works fine but no way to trigger it. In closing, the Gopher Hawk works great catching adult gophers but not so god catching small baby gophers. I read a couple reviews on this thing about it not catching moles. Moles are smaller than gophers so it stands to reason if this thing cant snare a baby gopher it wont snare a mole or vole. So the name "Gopher" hawk is fitting as it is intended to catch gophers. Maybe the Mfg. could design a smaller one and name it Mole Hawk. I would have given it 5 stars if the trigger didn't break.

Very good for small garden, when you have few 'visitors'. For large "invasions" taking ages to cleaning. Buying more - too expensive play. You must wait even 24 hours for results. But for prevention best "tool" I ever had.

Found out what a “pocket gopher” was shortly after moving to a new property. Decided to buy a variety of gopher/mole traps to test out…. The GOPHERHAWK is by far the most superior with the best success rate (4:1) for the hawk! Anyone can use this product with success ! Highly recommend!!!

Best trap that I have tried yet for my sandy ground. I have tried scissor traps and the impaling traps which worked in the denser ground at my previous house but not in the looser soil at the new place. The Gopher Hawk works on moles!
