Wear a helmet when skating or bike riding!
It did its job! I had a roller skating accident. I hit a concrete block wall at approximately 15mph. The accident would have been much worse, if it wasn't for the helmet. I also sustained a broken clavicle, three fractured ribs and a collapsed lung.

Great Looking Helmet
This helmet is a totally well designed and nicely color highlighted item. It’s my 2nd helmet from this supplier. The first one had a strap buckle failure after almost exactly 2 yrs. The other problem is the design of the rubber piece that activates the rear blinky light. I wound up having to glue it to the edges of the cut out to get it to work. Those issues aside, I really like the fit and the feel.

Affordable, attractive, functional...but too low end for me
There are many thing to like about this helmet. I will state what those are, but my current plan is to order another higher end helmet, as this one is too basic (dare I say chintzy?) for me.I'm a road biker, and have worn out my higher end Specialized brand helmet. Also, due to a weight loss, the Specialized size Large helmet became too big for me.Some of the specific features I wanted are: high visibility green color; visor; comfortable interior netting/padding; and good adjustment controls to ensure a snug fit.I normally would have purchased one of the well known brands like Giro/Bell/Specialized, and was willing to pay the usual $100 for a higher end helmet. However, it was hard to find any of the higher end brands/models that have all the features I was looking for. In particular, most did not have a visor and/or come in high visibility green. Then I came across this Shinmax helmet, which not only seemed to have all the features I wanted, but also came at the bargain price of about $30. So, I took a flyer and ordered one in size Medium. Here are the features, besides the low price, that I like about this helmet:- Attractive vent pattern and color- Chin strap is padded- Integrated tail light, including an extra battery- Interior netting insect barrier--I will preface my list of what I didn't like by saying that many of these issues are probably nitpicking for the casual bike rider.- The cloth netting inside the helmet is very thin, and does not cushion your head well.- The visor is a shrunken, cost-reduced version of a standard visor (like the one on my Specialized helmet). The attach points are low quality and the visor kept popping off the helmet. The side blades are thin/narrow, causing the mirror I attach to the visor to easily dislodge.- Even though I went down one size from my Specialized, the Shinmax helmet still slipped a bit back and forth on my head. This wouldn't be a deal killer, except that the tightening mechanism didn't have much cinching ability. Thus, I couldn't get a snug fit. This isn't really a defect, as perhaps I should have ordered two sizes smaller. But having minimal adjustability - plus they don't include any additional stick-on foam pads - made it so that there is very little tolerance on fit.--So here's what I am going to do. I am going to give this helmet to my daughter, who rides once in a blue moon. This helmet will be perfectly fine for a casual rider like her. For me, I'm going to spend some additional dollars on something better.
