Amazing value for the price
I've only had this a couple days, and it has yet to reach its end user (my dad) since I'm still setting things up, but so far I'm very pleased! It even came with a simple rubber case and seems to have a screen protector already installed. I'm setting it up to be an ereader for my dad, and so far so good! I was particularly happy to see ZERO BLOATWARE! I had settled in to uninstall all the candy crush and other nonsense games and things that often come preinstalled on devices, only to discover...there weren't any! Just all the usual google apps. Now, I don't expect this to stand up against, say, the latest samsung tablet, and neither should you--not for this price. In particular I suspect it would struggle with having multiple apps open and running things, so I've made sure to regularly close everything as I worked setting it up. But it's worked smoothly and without any real delay so far, even as I've installed multiple apps at a time and downloaded books. Again I'm just planning for my dad to use it as an ereader (I even disabled youtube), so I wasn't looking for a powerhouse by any means, but I'm impressed nonetheless. As far as picture quality...well, I'm no videophile. It all looks perfectly sharp to me and will certainly work for reading. I haven't tried the sound, either via speaker or headphones, but you don't need anything fancy for audiobooks. It IS a little heavy, fair warning. And it's thicker than most tablets, so the "universal" case I got for it doesn't quite fit. But I don't think it will be hard to find one that does fit, just stick to the ones with rubber bands rather than hard plastic clips on bungees. The storage space is getting eaten up a bit fast, but there's a micro sd card slot so I foresee little difficulty with that. (knock on wood, of course!) All in all a solid tablet at a reasonable price point!

A bit "buggy" and can stall. Is not fast. Ok for low-intensity stuff
First I gotta say the wallpaper background is ugly as heck. Every night I change it to something else I want and save. Then next day when I restart it the ugly wallpaper is back again. Every. Single. Day. Hyper-annoying. Also annoying is the default sleep mode is set after a very short time (perhaps 15-30 seconds), and that also you can set longer, thankfully. Otherwise this tablet would be smashed against the wall. I only use this to read the news in bed, not for anything intensive. However, even there it can struggle on every news app I try. Not super fast. I was replacing a kindle8 I hacked to have the Google Play store. This tablet is slghtly faster than the kindle8. But not by a whole lot. I bought this for 49.99 and I would never pay a penny more, it is just not worth it. I am saying this as now the price is over 75. There have also been a few "hang" moments when either the screen went black, or the touchscreen failed to respond to my fingers. Overall, it is just OK budget tablet. Will do me for my news for a few years if it lasts that long. I do like that it is USB-C powered, though. And it comes with a protective cover (like a cellphone cover) to protect from dropping.

Good little budget tablet for watching videos & reading Umidigi has good customer support
Not the fastest Tablet this is a basic budget tablet Good for watching videos on YouTube Social media, Reading. Definitely not a gaming tablet I did have issues about 2 months after purchase the tablet went totally dead & wouldn't charge it was past return period so I contacted Umidigi Customer service directly they had me send in the Tablet & They sent me a brand new one So Umidigi Customer Service is Good they seem to stand behind their products I will most likely purchase one of their higher quality devices.

Well made, sturdy tablet
I resisted buying a new tablet for a long time, because I liked my old iPad so much, but UMIDIGI's G1 Tab mini price was such a great value. The tablet came charged at 91%, so it was ready to use right out of the box. I was also impressed that it came with a crystal clear silicone case and a screen protector installed - you just have to peel off the external layer marked by the paper tab, and there will be the proper protector underneath (I tried to show in my video how it works). I love the regular minijack port for headphones and the charging USB-C port on top of the laptop (unusual) - I can use regular headphones and charge the tablet while keeping it on a stand for video chat in the vertical mode. There is also a slot for a micro SD/TF card. Ignore the little instruction manual leaflet - there is no tray for the card - you just click the card into the slot. It is a bit finicky because the card is so tiny, but I hope my video shows how to do it. Just don't force anything - align things and it will work. The tablet is really well made and high quality. It is smaller than my old iPad, but thicker, so it weighs about the same. The size is actually perfect - it feels comfortable in my hands and it fits in a lady's purse. I use my tablet mostly for reading books and documents (PDF, doc), and I like the lit up screen with high resolution, the strong contrast and vibrant colors. But the G1 Tab mini is much more than just a book reader - it has all the functions of an Android tablet - you can access the internet through Chrome, log in with your Google account to access all your online content and sync the calendars. It was actually the hardest part for me - to switch from iPad to Android. I could not find settings. Until... I started thinking about this tablet like it is an Android phone (except you cannot make calls). I have Android phones and it was the turning point for my mind. Almost all the settings are in the pull down screen accessed from the home screen (I try to show it in my video how to get to all the options). There is even a flashlight and GPS locations! Just like a phone. The only missing setting in the quick access screen is "display" - I cannot find it. Overall I love this tablet and I am not afraid to take it with me on the road - it seems really sturdy and the case protects the volume buttons from dust and sand. The camera is not the greatest, but I use my regular camera during my trips. And so far, I did not have to charge the battery - it has been a few days now of using it.

Believe the reviews, I sure wish I had!
I bought this tablet primarily for watching YouTube videos, reading, and occasionally browsing the internet. Maybe even playing a light game or two. But, really, I didn’t have anything intensive planned for this tablet. I was really frustrated when I learned that this tablet couldn’t even handle what little I wanted from it. I would have said that the screen was acceptable until I noticed five small dead pixels on the top of my screen. I was also shocked by the amount of light bleeding. It looked really bad in some angles. It was too much for my liking, very distracting. At this point, I knew this tablet was going to have to be returned. Dead pixels are no joke! I just couldn’t take a chance on that. But, since I had it with me, I decided to keep testing it out before putting it back in its box. The speakers weren’t amazing, but they were passable. That was probably the only thing that I didn’t have an issue with because when you’re buying something on a budget, you can’t expect high-quality speakers. Watching YouTube videos was incredibly frustrating. Every time I clicked on a video, it would play for about 53 seconds before buffering. It wouldn’t load the video after that. I tried it with multiple different videos and it did the same thing every time. I even tried changing the video quality but it didn’t seem to help. Eventually, after about 15 minutes or so, it started working! I’m not exactly sure why but videos started to actually play. However, this should have worked in the first place. For some reason, it automatically played videos in 720P. I’m not sure why because I could change it to 1080P and it would play just fine but if I wanted to change the video quality, I would have to do so every time I clicked on a video which was annoying. Even after clicking “advanced settings,” in the YouTube app, it still defaulted to 720P. Now, I wasn’t too caught up in the video quality, 720P is fine but I thought it would be worth mentioning to those of you who care about stuff like that. Lastly, I think the second biggest issue that I had with this tablet besides YouTube, is just the fact that this tablet is really slow. It takes too much time loading up the Google web browser and apps. It also stutters a lot while you’re scrolling which happened pretty much every time I scrolled. Overall, I would not recommend this tablet to anyone. For the same price, you can purchase the Alldocube iPlay 50 mini Lite with a coupon and it’s better in pretty much every way. I would know because that’s what I did! I was actually trying to decide between this one and that one and the only reason I went with this one over it was because it came with a pre-installed screen protector and a case. I promise you, having to buy those separately is worth it if it means that the tablet you’ll be buying actually does what it’s supposed to do and it’ll save you a trip to the UPS store! (Update: I had to return that tablet too. I found out that it has a screen protector on it already installed as well but it’s super thin and doesn’t do anything. Took it on a trip and the screen somehow cracked despite me being very careful with it. I would still recommend it over this one but get a good screen protector if you decide to purchase). Seriously, don’t buy this tablet. Umidigi should be ashamed of themselves for releasing something that can barely load their own website.

Price , Android 14 and build quality is good
I recently purchased the UMIDIGI G1 Tab Mini and it is a solid purchase. Initially I thought that I got only 5Gb of RAM instead of 7G as mentioned in the description. After playing with setting i figured out that the actual RAm is 3GB and virtual RAm is 4 GB and you can reduce the virtual RAm if you need to free some space in table as it take space for tabled ROM only. It works well with 3GB RAM and have a expandable storage up to 1TB. Currently I put only 128 Gb of micrsosd card and it works fine. Android 14 OS is good. This tablet is a great value for its price. and the top charging port is perfect for working in portrait mode and using charging or USB C headset. I am not impressed with the speaker and camera quality but it’s really ok with this price range. No issue for me as I am mostly using it for internet browsing, email, youtube and music with headphones or bluetooth speakers. The battery life is great, works really well for full day with watching videos and browsing. Screen is good , build quality is very good. Plus it comes with screens protector and protective case 😀 .you cannot complain anything with this price range you are getting all these things. Wifi working well I connected with my Google router and didn’t see any issue in terms of internet speed and all. Not able to check Wifi 6 as I don’t have wifi 6 router. IF you are looking something with an affordable price then this tablet will be really good fit. Despite the issue with speaker I am giving it 5 star as with this price range I can’t complain much.

After several weeks: not so cute little Tab: problem with SD Card and bluetooth connection
Editing this review again 21 days after purchase: Tried simply downloading files via USB or Bluetooth. Spent more than 90 minutes with Android File Transfer and other apps. Doesn't recognize anything. Lowering to two stars. Editing this review 15 days later: Major difficulty with putting in an SD Card. The slot is there but it refused to format one card (though it kept saying that it was completed), and the second card, though formatted on the tablet, is not recognized on Android File Transfer. This brought down the original overall rating to three stars. Original review: This 8 incher does its job. Can expand the 3 GB RAM using the internal memory. Accepts SD cards. I added in an inexpensive 32 GB which does the trick for me. If you're going to be gaming, you might be disappointed as this baby isn't the fastest... But for usual tasks and reading (my main tablet use) it's fine and up-to-date. And the price is right... with no Amazon-forced ads...🙂

No cellular capabilities
To start off, this is yet another UMIDIGI unit that has entered my collection. So for starters, let's talk about the screen. The screen has full 1080p capabilities as I've tried this out on YouTube and a few other streaming apps and I must say the picture quality is pretty good. The actual size of the screen is kinda like a cross between a full size tablet and a full size flagship phone (phablet) so its like the best of both worlds as u can still grip this tablet firmly without using two hands yet still have more screen real estate compared to a phone. Speaking of phones, as with other UMIDIGI tablets, this particular model does NOT have Sim card/ wireless capabilities like its counterparts but on the bright side it does support WIFI-6 so at least your wifi will move alot faster while browsing/streaming. As with other UMIDIGI devices I've come across, the build quality is mostly definitely good quality and does not feel cheap and comes with a protective case and screen protector pre-installed. 5MP camera on front and back so pictures are pretty standard. Has a standard 3.5m jack for headphones and I noticed you can also use USB-c headphones as well. If you looking for a middle ground between a phone and full size tablet, then this is most definitely worth a try.
