Perfect edc knife
Had this for about a year and a half and I've used it every day. The edge on the 154cm holds up well but I usually have to sharpen it at the end of the week. I cut thick rope with it mainly. The wire cutters work really good and they work just as good now as they did out of the box.. I cut copper wire with it a lot and they work great. The scissors work really good. They are extremely sharp and I use them a lot. All and all I love this tool and I use it all the time. The saw on it works extremely well. I've cut 1 inch limbs with it a lot and i can get them cut in about 30 seconds. Only Down side is the pocket clip. Mine broke from bumping up against something. Loved it but it only lasted about 8 or 9 months. I just put it in my little pocket on my jeans that is technically used for pocket watches, but it fits perfectly in there.

Scissor problem
Just got my Charge AL .I wanted an upgrade from my Wave because I like the better quality blade steel. The only complaint is that every time I use the scissors the little scissor spring pops off to the side. Was very dissapointed. Sent back to Leatherman for repair!

Almost excellent
This is an extremely nice multitool. I almost got the Charge Ti for the few extra tools, and for the knife-blade with S30V steel, but I made the right choice with this one (I put the $30 difference toward a separate knife). In general, every part of this tool is well-designed and manufactured precisely. Therefore, I'll only mention those areas that fall short of this standard. There are two:- the eyeglass-screwdriver is made of very soft metal, and the tip bent when I tightened my glasses with it- the scissors work well, but have two flaws: the blade faces toward your finger when you put them away, and the fit isn't great... there is friction when you push it back into place. The latter might just be a problem with my particular item.Otherwise, this is a great multi-tool!

Best leatherman I have come across!
This is by far the best Leatherman I have used to date. It is my EDC, and as an Electronics Technician in the Air Force I use this on a daily basis. The reasons I picked the Leatherman Charge AL over other Leatherman models:I don't think the TTi is worth all the extra money (IMO). The 154 CM steel blade is as good a quality steel for a blade as the average user needs. Of course if you know your steel, and you prefer top of the line that yes, go with the S30V steel blade on the TTi, but most people will find the 154CM steel is adequate. The TTi also has the Lightweight corrosion resistant titanium handles and a cutting hook, but I don't think these items have a huge impact on the use of the MT, or justify spending the extra money.I do think the Charge is worth getting over the less expensive models. Yes, the charge has similar tools/functionality but after using the charge for a few months the difference is night and day. The charge has a much better feel to it, overall the quality and comfort is far better than the cheaper models. As far as picking the AL over the ALX is purely up to what you prefer in your MT. If you carry the extra bits in your sheath, than why would you need two bit holders on your Leatherman? One is good for me and I'll take the scissors!Overall this is a great MT. Leatherman has outdone themselves with the charge family. A testament to how much I love this Leatherman is after a few months use it was stolen from me. After spending almost $100 on it, I had a very hard time deciding on if I wanted to drop another $100 or just get a cheaper Leatherman. But the thought of using any other model for my EDC was just too much for me. So I'm buying this again!(NOTE: I think Karma helped me out. My second Charge AL came with a S30V Steel Blade!!!! I contacted Leatherman and they assured me the AL and ALX are not being made with S30V steel and I just got lucky)Overall it is hands down the most durable, comfortable, practical MT I have used and I would recommend spending the extra $ to get this over the wave or similar models. Yes, it is a heavier MT but it worth the weight to have this with you on the job. When I lost mine the Lack of weight on my belt was a terrible feeling.

Last Multi-Tool I will buy
What can I say about this product, It is a leatherman, fit and finish are perfect, all tools are tight with no play, blades easily open with the flick of a finger. An absolute perfect tool for me. Oh, one cavet- the leather belt sheath is cheap and I expect it won't last long, but I did not buy it for the sheath. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to buy their LAST multitool. Of course, if you are a collector this is just the beginning........

Leatherman Charge Great gear
The leatherman charge is an upmarket version of the leatherman wave. I have the wave and I am really happy with it. And now I have the charge and I'm really happy with it. What can I say that hasn't already been said. It's great gear and worth the money, you will be happy with it.The Charge has slightly better steel in the blade and the handles are better looking but the tools are the same. It comes with some extra bits and a gift tin which is nice. I also think the finish is slightly better on the charge as compared to the wave. But they are both good. You can't go wrong.

Get the Wave and save some cash.
I owned a Ti and it was stolen so I bought this. At the same time, I bought a Wave as a gift.I was surprised to realize that these two tools are identical. The Al/Ti charge versions, have much cooler external panels, and they come with a gift tin etc. But if all you need is the tool and don't care about the cool factor, (The Al IS very cool looking - I'll give it that) get the Wave. The wave and charge have the same features, and the same internal build. Only the outside panel is different. The Al might be a tad lighter, but not enough to make a difference. For THAT, get a skeletool.I 4 stared it, because I think it should be made clear that these two models are very very similar...
