Fray Bentos Cheese & Onion Pie 425g

Was quite tasty. Aromatic the minute you open and cheesy flavor. Great for travel. Canned for long shelf life. Great for survival ration. Make sure you own a propane camp oven.

When I opened the tin I was sure I’d made a mistake buying this. Then I put it in the oven… When I took it out of the oven, I was astounded at how tasty it looked! Instantly I was catapulted back to UK! Yes, I do find many British foods tasty. Once I dig into this pie, I realized my initial impression was WRONG (I am wrong more often than I will admit to!). A great meal in a can!

Ich hatte diese Bestellt, mit drei andre Pasteten, sie kamen schnell und Perfect verpackt würde jeder Zeit wieder Bestellen

. . . mein Mann ist Engländer und vermisst zuweilen seine englischen Leibspeisen (ja ich weiß "englisch" und "Leibspeise" in einem Zug nicht nachvollziehbar, aber ich bin ja auch keine Engländerin). Derartiges hier zu finden ist (für mich aus verständlichen Gründen) fast so schwierig wie die berühmte Nadel im Heuhaufen. Daher der Versuch mit dieser original britischen Konserve - war ein Satz mit X also NIX. Damit hat sich das Thema für meinen Mann erst mal erledigt.

Ugh 😑 it was really bad if you closed your eyes you would have no idea what you’re eating. The cheese was orange and stringy and turned into a glue like mass. Pastry was a stodgy chewy mess and left a bad chemical taste and smell.

So glad to find this as a vegetarian, I'd missed that iconic pastry !! Really tasty , still a pain to open though!
