Overall, quite a decent product. If you want a fairly simple yet surprisingly detailed model that requires no assembly its not a bad pickup. My only complaint pertains to its accuracy; the Project 941 "Typhoon" class submarines carried 20 ballistic missiles, rather than the 24 as indicated by the number of launch bay doors on the missile deck. But would recommend despite that.

I was thoroughly thrilled with this little model! The detailing is perfect and very sharp, and the quality of the material is excellent. Arrived ahead of schedule and made a perfect addition to my growing collection! Ordered another!

I think anyone should get this typhoon class submarine because it is highly detailed and has a sleek paint job.

While it doesn't float upright, the detail is much better than in the photos. Best of all, it's made in the U.S.A., not in some sweatshop overseas.

In 1981, I was hired by Hughes Aircraft to design the wepon launch system (Mk 48 torpedo and the Cruise missiles) for this 688 Los Angeles class nuclear fast attack nuclear submarine, from a clean sheet of paper. It was an exiting time, desinging the whole vertical and horizontal weapon eletcrical launch system with a pencil (no computers then just brain and penci). Was cxompleted in 1984 and went to testing phase. THis model is pretty accurate and really nice to look at. Only thing is it does not come with a small stand. Good price for good collection , not the lego type.
