Great build quality, very sturdy. The finish is really nice and looks the part.

The bolt came well packaged and looks to be of good quality manufacture. it has a good powder coated finish that looks smart new but how it fairs over time after hundreds of operations back and forth is yet to be determined.it comes complete with the necessary fitting screws and instructions for those who are unable to work it out!it can be fitted either sideways, between the gate and post or the gate and wall. It can also be fitted vertical such that the bolt engages into the "keep" into the ground. The tulular keep is supplied and is cleverly firred with a spring loaded cover that closes the hole when the bolt is removed to prevent the ingress of dirt or debris. I don't foresee that it would prevent the ingress of water so I have a concern over the longevity of the spring as it may corrode over time.£21.99 at the time of this review which, to me , seems a little expensive as similar and some more robust bolts can be obtained at a more competitive price

Very solid and well made sliding bolt latch.I'm very impressed by the build quality and finish.Has a good weight to it too.The design and supplied parts means it can be mounted left, right, up or down.I've never seen a spring loaded 'dust canister' for mounting in the floor (see my video). What a great idea to stop it getting blocked with debris.Note that if you need to add a padlock, then due to the bolts design the padlock will need to be the correct size to fit through the hole in the bolt.Good quality fixings and plugs supplied too.Description mentions it's rust proof - time will tell.Overall very happy.

Feel that it should have at least 1 less bag and maybe 2 less if putting parts together......but I can see why in that if you use the clasp as the closure part instead of the bolt hole, then you would not need the fixing screws so keep those still held in 1 bag for other use you might have. The bolt hole could have fitted onto the bolt to make less plastic bags but that's my view.The weight and feel of the bolt is a hefty piece of kit and has a nice solid feel to it and is quite the statement piece as shown in the photos that you know you have a bolt on the gate. The black colouration is all over the bolt and clasp that when put against a red gate really shows off the lock.There is also hole on the bolt itself to allow a padlock to be installed to allow complete locking of the bolt to prevent opening or even closing which is a handy feature.After a few days of rain and wind, I can confirm that the bolt is showing no signs of wear or rust or even scratches....and also no movement in the clasp or the bolt holder, all working really well.If this is in your search, I can recommend this bolt for direct use of a bolt but also as a show piece on the gate\door as it is a very nice coloration and no visible wear after 2 weeks.

I live in a little valley where we get strong winds and today they are predicted to 58mph!I've been battening down the hatches over the last few months, and my over-size shed door is starting to warp and it makes me worry that it might pop open and break in a strong wind.I had a smaller version of these bolts on there but I wasn't happy with it as it would barely contact the floor. I replaced it with the longest of these bolts, and drilled in that circular stop that comes with it into the floor. The stop is sprung so it's not a hole when there's nothing in it, but it also lets the bolt latch into the floor (or doorframe) nicely.The door is currently holding fast against those winds with the help of this bolt.Strong, long, good fixings.
