It looks a beautiful watch, obviously purchased for my son. It's a christmas gift, so hasn't been out of the box other than to set the time. Value for money, yes. Will it last, doubt it. But it does work, it's of good quality but as I say for £10, what do you want. It's something he can keep if he doesn't wish to use it.

I don't know how much call there is for pocket watches these days, but this one certainly fits the bill. And does come with both a watch chain and a neck chain. I ordered the silver version, which looks a bit classier than the gold. The packaging is neat and pleasing. It comes with a small 'Especially for you' gift card. The watch is surprisingly light - which, in my mind, rather reflects on the quality. That said, you might not want to carry a heavy large watch around your neck - or even in your watch pocket. The watch's diameter is 4.5cm (not including the knob on top) and it is about 0.8cm thick. A press on the button at the top of the watch, flips the cover down to reveal an easily-read watch face with Roman numerals and also 24hr numbering. The watch has a second hand and seems to keep good time. The engraving on the outside is bevelled in and well done. If I'm honest I find the writing on the outside the problem with this watch - something printed on the inside would be so much more personal. Pocket watches are usually for show - but I'm pretty sure my son would be embarrassed to wear this cheesy message publicly. But maybe that's just us.
