How do I put this together? I bought this it does not come with instructions, it does not spin and I am unsure of how to use it

I assume you connected an air to it. If it doesn’t spin when you pull trigger then it’s faulty. Finding the spindle lock hole is tricky as it moves away from the hole. I used a needle nosed pliers to move the spindle until the lock hole appeared.

Will it accept a larger backing plate? Like a 5" or 6" ? Thanks!

It's a Random Orbital Sander. The rotation and oscillation are random, not a fixed path but one could say that it's still a Dual Action of sorts. There's not a lot of difference between a Random Orbital Sander and a Dual Action Sander. A DA has a fixed spin direction and a random oscillation. I bought the Random Orbital Sander in question and was pleased with its performance.

Has anyone used this to same large pieces of furniture... like a table, dresser, etc. ? Thanks!
