No labeling, but works great!
I got this primarily to use with industrial hardware (PLCs and such) and was surprised with how easily it works. As described, plug it into windows, and you get a COM port (you will probably need to check into device manager to see which port was assigned). But it worked without any extra effort. The driver is built into Windows 11, at least, and reads as an FTDI which is a well regarded serial chip maker. I was able to use this with some of my devices to test them out (ModbusRTU over RS485) and it worked perfectly. The cable comes with a handy 9-pin to terminal block adapter, as shown in the listing, so you can easily connect it to various devices. However, I'm a little disappointed that the adapter only connects 5 pins, instead of all 9. I realize it dosn't have to connect all 9 for RS485, but it would have been nice to just provide a generic adapter. In addition, the adapter has some print for the 5 pins, but because of the limited space it's hard to tell what they are trying to say. Fortunately, the manual has great diagrams to show how to connect things, so you can ignore the print. The 9-pin side of the cable has the brand name "DIKWAN" on one side, and "RS485" embossed on the other - good thing because otherwise this looks just like a plain USB to 9-pin cable! I didn't test RS422 applications, as I don't have any devices for that, but if it works for 485 it will probably work equally well for 422. Aside from minor issues with print and such, the product works great and has good diagrams so it's easy to use for RS485 applications. I can't complain about anything, really!

Worked well for my needs!
It connected to my CNC machine right away, seems to function as expected and can't say much else about it. It feels well constructed, the USB cable is decently thick and doesn't feel cheap like many adapters often do. This one feels like a nice cable and the adapter is nicely molded rubberized plastic too. The USB-A end fit well into my laptop and doesn't feel wobbly like cheaper adapters tend to. I don't know if the FTDI chip is genuine, but in Windows, it comes up compatible with my FTDI driver. I also attached a screenshot of the hardware ID it uses. Lastly, there is a small "instruction" booklet that comes with it. All you really need is the pinout(s) and specs for the adapter, which I've included for reference. If you need an RS-485 adapter, then this one will probably work for you too.

Works with HY VFD and Mach3
I needed an RS485 serial device to interface my CNC software with the VFD for my spindle. I can confirm that this one does work perfectly. Windows 10 was able to install the drivers automatically without having to download and install any support files. Device manager showed it working and assigned it a com port with no problems. Once the plugin for Mach3 was configured and the VFD Pids configured everything was talking and operating perfectly. The design of the adapter is nice as well. Most RS485 USB adapters have fairly large bodies, where this design being more like a simple cable can be used in more confined spaces, which works well for my particular setup. The electronics are housed inside the DB9 connector. The only down side is there are no indicator lights to provide visual feedback of the operation, but in my case that's not really necessary anyway. I would definitely recommend this adapter.

Simple USB serial communication and breakout board
* Simple and reliable USB to Serial communication * Works out of the box * Serial breakout is good to have for many DIY projects or dynamic connectivity needs * Solid shell design, does not feel like it'll fall apart anytime soon * Breakout board foam cover on bottom sticks fairly well to keep shorts from happening. Does tend to peel off slightly after time but ultimately sticks in the end Registered device ID as reported by windows: FTDIBUS\COMPORT&VID_0403&PID_6001

Works well with my scanner and other radios Windows and Linux
I got this to have a spare in the shop when programing older radios/scanners. I have used this with a Uniden BCT15X on both Windows 10 and Linux with no issues. I have also used the I/O wiring block to attach a 3.5mm input to my Alinco handheld radio to update the programing. The cable is sturdy and easy to use.
