Great for Yaesu Amateur radio transceivers
It appears that a lot of Amateur Radio operators are buying this headset as a replacement for the likes of Heil communications headsets. If you're thinking of buying this I can say it works VERY well with my Yaesu FTDX10, it sounds the same as my Heil Pro Micro which has died the death after only 4 years. You will though need the correct cable interface and a PTT pedal or foot switch. I use the Heil AD-1-AR from my old Heil headset. This headset is fitted with a dynamic microphone so I'm not sure if it'll work with Icom which require a electret mic element.Audio reports I'm getting are excellent, the headset is comfy IMHO, the cabling seems a bit thin so be careful and tidy up the excess with the wraps supplied as it may snag. You'll also need some foam covers for the microphone which can be bought on Amazon (I used my old Heil one.) All in all a much cheaper replacement than Heil or similar for a third/maybe quarter of the price.

Good item. Bought for ham radio use.

Need a headset for Ham Radio? Look no further
I bought the SP40 after reading all the reviews in the ham world for my new FT710. You need the SP40 for Yaesu radios as the SP45 wont work. Also I didnt fancy spending the £200 + for the named brand items. This headset is super comfortable and the mic construction and boom is top quality. I am so surprised at how good this set is for the money.I also purchased a pack of mic wind coverings to stop any popping and breathing noises.Well worth it.73

Very good for the price
For the price I can’t complain. The headband feels very flimsy, I have to pick up the headphones holding both cups.Sound from the cups is very nice for SSB but they are very easy to overdrive. I find myself turning down the volume or rf gain for them to cope.I also had to sew a pop filter sock to improve my audio.

Used on my ICOM 7610
I needed a headset for my Icom 7610 so I thought I would give this a try. Works well and is comfortable. If you buy one for a Icom 7300 or 7610 you will need an adaptor and also do not bias the mic or you will blow it up.

The SB40 is a great headset - I'm using mine with radio transceiver
I'm using my headset with an FT857D amateur radio transceiver. The headset works well and I get good reports of audio quality. I like the mic boom as it allows the mic to be positioned correctly in front of your mouth. It can also be swung up to let you take a mouthful of coffee then swung back down into exactly the same position without any fiddling. BTW the microphone seems to be dynamic, which is useful in non-PC applications as the headset needs no DC power.

Good for head but mic bad
Good for gaming but if your going to be using the mic I would keep looking when on discord with friends they said backround was he arable and it was stadik

Microphone not working. Support are ghosting me.
The microphone is faulty. I bought it for amateur radio use. Nobody could hear me so put it to one side and forgot about it. Tested it through Audiology and by recording messages on my transciever. Radio microphone worked soundly this gave no audio.Sadly out of Amazon 30day period so only option through Amazon is to contact Koss. They have ignored my emails. Trying to return it to Amazon is a maze I have yet to successfully negotiate.

Excellent for the Money!
Overall, these headphones were affordable and had some stunning sound quality for the price. I would definitely recommend if you are sick of other more expensive headsets like Triton Kunai's breaking or just being awful overall. I have had both those brands before, and neither of them hold a candle to these! My Triton Kunais gave way too much feedback to the point all my friends heard was static if I had the volume turned up for the game or music in the background. I especially hate the Kunais though because if you buy the universal set for 70 dollars from Gamestop, the mic mute switch doesn't even work with anything but a ps3 and I was needing to use them for the PC. For less than 40 bucks, I will never have to buy another computer headset and neither will you! These have a LIFETIME WARRANTY which means so long as you aren't slamming them into the ground and overall abusing them, if anything happens to break send them back in! I have done this with a few Koss headsets before, and the process works pretty well and takes about 5 weeks on average. Its only a 9 dollar return shipping charge you have to cover, and they will waive that for you sometimes if you ask really nicely. So onto the pro's/con'sPro's1. Very comfortable for prolonged usage (sling style head band)2.Extra long cord3.Deep Bass (I was impressed) and crisp highs (not tinny at all)4.Microphone is accurate and doesn't pick up a bunch of background noise5.About the cheapest decent sounding gaming headset you will buyCon's1.They don't look cool (but who cares)2.No mute switch (but most games on steam are push to talk or have a mute option in them)3.Not USB powered, uses the old headphone and microphone jack (which is okay but takes some tweaking, will explain below)Since this is not USB powered, there is an extra step required of you after you plug these in. They do not have a software "driver" so they use the default Realtek audio driver from your motherboard. Usually every windows PC has this very same driver (although the menu for it will look slightly different based upon your mobo manufacturer). Once you plug it in, the realtek menu should pop up, you need to do three things(all under the MICROPHONE tab at the top)1. Checkmark noise suppression2. Checkmark Acoustic echo cancellation3. Next to what looks like a volume slider, you will see a little microphone icon to the right of it. Click that icon (it opens what looks like another volume slider), and increase the microphone boost to +10db. This will ensure you won't have any trouble being heard in game. You can ALSO do this through the Steam settings menu and I recommend that you ALSO at least go to that menu as well and tweak your mic settings there before playing any game.
