These strings do hold up a bit more to hard picking. They are a bit more tense than Ernie Balls and regular DR's like Pure Blues, both of which become significantly floppier on the second day once they're broken in. The feel is extremely natural. It is a treated string, not a coated string, so there is no visible polymer coating. There is a slight reduction of friction which reduces sliding noise and reduces callusing, and callusing itself is what causes that squeak. So these are truly excellent strings and they are as Dime apocryphally described them as, the strings of strength. In some cases you might want looser strings.
