I am an SLP and mother of a special needs kid with apraxia. I’ve watched some of the Talk Tools CEU videos online as well as their Oral Placement Therapy program/book. I have used a few items from the Talk Tools brand mainly the z-vibe type items and other tools to help elicit correct placement for bilabial sounds and for /r/. My son has also really benefited from these types of items for awareness and feedback. I think this looks like an interesting item. Not only will it help with placement for those bilabials, but muscle weakness, and challenges related to lip closure for feeding/drooling. As others have said, I wish there was more information that came with the tools though.

My daughter worked with a speech therapist for about a year and a half, but we've had to discontinue services for a variety of reasons. I'm so pleased to have this little mouth gym to help support my daughter's work on her consonant sounds! The quality of this set is very good, and the appearance gets her attention and helps her stay engaged in her learning activities. She asks to work with the kit, and that's a big deal! The little silicone weights attach to the included sterile tongue depressors, so this provides a complete value. There is no silicone smell to distract, and these are extremely easy to use. The reason I'm giving this only 4 stars is because I feel like there should be more instructions for home use, or even some videos included to make sure exercises are correctly executed. I'm reading multiple speech therapy books right now, but that's probably not what most people buying this will do. More instruction is important! I hope this is helpful! Enjoy!

These are nice and colorful "weights" that can be added to the included popsicle sticks to help strengthen and exercise as part of speech therapy. It comes with a lot of individually wrapped popsicle sticks and a plastic case for the weights. It would have been nice for it to include a list of exercises to do with them.
