FLEX 24V Brushless Cordless 1.6 Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum Tool Only, Battery and Charger Not Included - FX5221-Z

The FLEX 24V Cordless 1.6-Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum (FX5221-Z) is an impressive piece of equipment that earns its 5-star rating with its thoughtful design and powerful performance specs. Here’s why this vacuum stands out. This vacuum offers 41 CFM and 42 inches of water lift, delivering strong suction for both wet and dry messes, making it suitable for a wide range of cleaning tasks. The Eco and Boost modes allow you to adjust power output, with Eco mode conserving battery for lighter jobs and Boost mode tackling tougher debris. The reverse flow function is a smart feature that clears clogs from the HEPA filter quickly, ensuring consistent performance. The washable HEPA filter captures fine particles, which is ideal for maintaining air quality during dusty tasks. Weighing only 7.3 pounds (without battery), it’s highly portable, and the included carrying strap adds convenience for moving it around. The 8-foot flexible hose comes with practical attachments— a crevice tool, round brush, and utility nozzle— all of which store neatly on the vacuum for easy access. The 1.6-gallon canister provides ample capacity for a compact unit, and the optional FLEX Fleece Dust Bags (FT522) are available for cleaner disposal of fine debris, adding to its versatility. The vacuum is part of the FLEX 24V platform, meaning it’s compatible with all FLEX 24V batteries, and the THERMA-TECH heat management system promises 20% more power and 25% longer runtime compared to standard batteries. The rugged build feels durable, and the 5-year warranty (extendable to lifetime if registered by the deadline) adds confidence in its longevity.

I have to say I normally use Ryobi tools but I found the lack of power of the circular saw a good reason to make a change. I bought the Flex circular worm saw and was blown away. Then came the sawzall, spare batteries and now the vacuum. I am a pest control guy by trade and I end up using a vacuum a ton to get problems under control. I know this isn't the average user job but I can say it has a ton of power. I also used it on my truck and it was able to do the same job as my 5 gal corded Ridged vac. I love the hepa filter and the bags are a must for me, I throw them away after every job. The bags are a little high priced but honestly with the thickness and quality the offer they are worth it. They keep the inside of the vacuum very clean. If they let anything past I would know, the smell would be pretty bad. With a 5 AH battery the vacuum lasted for a 40 door apartment complex using it in most of the apartments. The entire time it never failed to get everything. The shoulder strap made all the difference in the world too. I was able to carry it the entire time and it kept it tight to me so it wasn't hitting everything. None of the tools fell off either. I know that sounds dumb but it gets frustrating to have stuff fall off and I have to grab them. I need the different tools with me so I have to have them. Everything is tight so if you are snatching up bugs, cleaning cars, or sucking up wood chips the entire vacuum can handle it. I am very pleased with it. I always keep an extra box of bags on hand and I haven't really got anything in the hepa filter so I haven't had to worry about changing it or even cleaning it, I included pictures of before I took it for a test drive just because the after pictures are pretty gross. It is nice to get a well made tool that doesn't break the bank. I am going to buy everything Flex from now on!

Being heavily invested in the Flex 24v line it only makes sense to get this, I'm an electrician and this comes with me on small jobs where leaving a clean work area after is important for my clients. It doesn't have the most suction out there but just enough for my needs. Battery life is great when paired with a 5ah. Picks up drywall dust, small wire scraps and the like just fine. It did come with one bag which was nice. Size is also a positive, being not too big and bulky. Overall I like the attachments it comes with and the length of the hose is perfect. I was previously using the m12 fuel vacuum and while the suction is comparable, the battery life on the m12 is simply not enough. I was going through 5ah batteries every other day whereas with this a 24v 5ah battery will last me about a full work week. Overall a good value for the money at $100 or less, which is what I paid. Cons: nothing that outstanding just little things. Such as the power on button is at the top of the unit and gets accidentally bumped onto the 'on' position daily which is annoying sometimes. Two of the top attachments are stored on top of the unit which sometimes will end up falling off accidentally during transport. That's all I of the cons I can think of.

I find the vacuum to be a very hand size an is next to my work bench for small projects, very easy to grab and use and the suction power is excellent for its size. I deducted two points because the crevice tool is shown in the included manual but was missing from my box. This is a needed attachment for cleaning cars. I was lucky because I have one that fits, so I kept the vacuum instead of returning it.

Overall, I'm very happy with this with one caveat. First the good: its size and weight make it very easy to grab and use at a moment's notice and in relatively tight quarters. The hose seems to be very good quality, remaining flexible and expandable. The motor runs pleasantly, which is to say, I have no idea if it's loud or quiet, but it is definitely not grating to be in the same room as it while it runs. I suspect it's more quiet than most people would expect. Overall, I'm very happy with the value given that I already have the batteries. My only gripe is that I kind of expected better suction. Maybe I shouldn't have, and it works for most uses, but sawdust in thick carpet for example is not going to be something you use this for. On tile and around the shop, though, it's great.

Used it for the last week cleaning up HVAC units after an install job. So far so good, plently of power and runtime with a 5.0ah battery. Works better than my Dewalt 18v vacuum. I like that this vacuum is taller rather than short and wide, so it is easy to store in my van, less awkward I guess. The handle is comfy to grip, so it is easy to use.. and it comes with 3 attatchments; one extender, two brush style heads. Seems good for the price, im not sure I would have bought it at full price though. Materials seeem to be strong, well made.

Excellent vacuum between handheld and my plug in 5 gallon shop vac. My go to for quick cleaning. Unit is well made. Appreciate the low/high power setting. All attachments have a place on the vacuum so they are at hand when needed. Suction is good. Noise ok. Battery life seems good. Currently using a 5 amp battery. Slick little vacuum.

This vacuum is worth it. Very versatile so you wouldn't be lugging around an extension cord. It sucks pretty good as well, easy to vacuum your vehicle and putting on a small battery makes the weight even light. Easy to use with the on/off power switch on the top. And they do sell these vacuum bags on Amazon as well. Highly recommend if you have 24v Flex tools.
