A great Mesh product from TP-Link
Bought this to replace my +5 year old TP-Link M9 Plus and I am very happy with it. WiFi signal is very strong and the app is very easy to use and navigate through. Wireless and wired backhauling works perfect ;) I will takeout 1 start though for the below readons: 1. Enhanced security protection is a charged service instead of being free and embedded by default. 2. Mixing up an old unit such as an M9 Plus with the BE65, while the BE65 being the master unit caused many issues in WiFi connectivity and web access. The moment I deleted the M9 units, everything was OK. TP-Link has to sort this new+old mesh connectivity out since both were fully functional when connected to their respective models / on their own.

Fast and reliable
The TP-Link Deco BE65 | BE9300 Whole Home Mesh WiFi 7 System is an easy to install and easy to manage fast wifi system. It totally replaced my ISP router and it manages wifi all over my 2 bedroom apartment with amazing speed and coverage. With options to prioritize devices over others (like for online gaming) you basically are the architect of your own network and devices connected to it.

I have being considering to buy a mesh WiFi for a while, and this product was one of the options. After making the decision, I’m so pleased with this product to a point I wish I made this purchase much earlier and solve my connection issues at home. I would highly suggest this item for a good WiFi mesh network solution. Honestly, I feel it’s the best purchase decision I’ve ever made.

Upgraded to this mesh recently after using ASUS GT-AXE11000 for a year and Mercusys BE9300 for about 2 months and am very happy with the performance so far. I am listing the positives first followed by negatives and my personal experience / setup at the end. PROS: - This mesh delivers full ABB gigabit connection speed (roughly 930Mbps) at every portion of my single storey larger house. I was never able to get anywhere near that speed with ASUS and only while within 15feet line of sight from Mercusys on my WiFi7 enabled S24U. - The connection speed remains good on WiFi 6E enabled laptops and I can get full link speed with no issues. - 5GHz devices speedtest results generally remain at 850-890Mbps if they can support 80MHz channels. Older devices connecting at 40MHz showed 400-500Mbps speeds. - Ethernet backhaul between units work well (more on this in my impressions). - Looks great, almost part of furniture especially if you have lighter colour furniture. - All ports are 2.5G and connect at the advertised speed. - Setup is easy and adding devices using QR code makes it a breeze. - App is easy to use and covers all the basics for normal users. - Connectivity is easy and I do not need to check which unit I am connecting to while roaming around the house. - App has Network Optimisation feature which scans for interfering frequencies and adjust configuration without much user intervention. No need to try different frequencies, Wifi scanner etc. - Can setup multiple accounts and profiles. CONS: - Privacy concerns – not writing much on this, it is what it is. - Cannot separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands into separate SSIDs. This is surprising as I could do that with Mercusys BE9300 which is also TP-Link owned. - HomeShield subscription for advanced features. - While all units have USB 3.0 port, I could see a few folders from my Seagate 4TB hard drive on my TV. Never observed this with ASUS or even any of my Telstra routers (Mercusys does not have any USB port). The behaviour remained the same regardless of connection to Main or Satellite unit. - Mediocre 2.4GHz speeds. My Experience: Been using this for 1-month and I have observed no performance issues, so far. - Before purchase, I was concerned about overlapping signal issues in a single storey house but did not observe any problems in connection or speed. - I tested speeds with Single / Mesh setup and am convinced Mesh is superior even for single storey houses. The speed remain stable throughout the house, this is never achievable with single router. - Listing is not clear, was happy to receive V2 of the product (Not V1 or V1.6). The units support 688Mbps on 2.4GHz). - I setup Ethernet backhaul as per TP-Link recommendtions available online. My setup is Fiber box -- Main unit -- 2.5G switch -- Satellite units (individual ethernet cables). The units initially used WiFi but switched to Ethernet shortly. While TP-Link recommends certain switches, I just used a Tenda SE108 2.5G 8-port switch and it worked perfectly. - I don't find as much options as I could with Merlin on ASUS but TBH, I had to disable all features in ASUS to get reasonable speeds. Basic firewall and parental controls are available with TP-Link and I am not using any to get best network speed. - HomeShield would enable more features but I think normal users may be able to skip on this. Overall, very good mesh router and I would recommend for gigabit connections.
