I need to connect the line out jack of my fender super champ x2 to my headphones for silent practice. which one should i buy? what cable will i need?

Should be fine with the line out and the mono setting Not sure if the use of the line out will mute your speaker, be careful just unplugging the speaker as some solid state amps don’t like having no output load

When plugging in one xlr do I only get sound through one ear on my headphones?

Hi, check that you have stereo left and right on the output signal. Press the mono/stereo switch on the P1. If you have sound in both ears in mono, it means that your signal and P1 is ok. Check that you don’t have your output panned hard left or right. Make sure that your output connection is either XLR or TRS. As long as the P1 is set to stereo you will get sound as you want it. If in mono mode, you’ll get a mix in both ears.

Can this be used to hear ur lyrics when preforming live??

Yes it can. Essentially this replaces your foldback/monitor amp. You take your monitor feed, plug it into the device then use ear-buds. You can hear anything that you would expect to hear from a monitoe/foldback speaker. The only thing to remember is that this is a wired device so you can't go running or jumping all over the place but if you are stood/sat in front of a microphone, it's ideal.
