Will this work with any zigbee hub or is the aqara hub required specifically? assuming i don’t need homekit compatibility.

Is this product compatible with the kwikset 916 smartcode z wave door locks?

The Aqara Wireless Mini Switch is not compatible with any of the Kwikset door locks.

How do you change the battery when the adhesive ring is stuck to it and the surface of whatever you have the button is affixed on?

Originally I was thinking the same thing so I used a piece of 3m removable tape. But I learned you turn the switch to the left 1/4 turn, pull it off and change the battery then put it back on in reverse order.

Can i connect mini switch to an echo plus (built-in zigbee hub) device without buying the aqara hub?

No, you can't connect the mini switch to the Echo Plus directly. An Aqara Hub is required.
