They are also easy to adjust the tension to your desired strength. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great self closing hinges *by R***B on June 3, 2024* I custom fabricated my own deck gate to keep grandchild & grand-dog contained. Since I'd already decided on D&D Technologies' MagnaLatch, I thought I'd try their self closing hinges. Though heavy duty, I'm not excited about them being plastic. I've seen photos on line where UV rays lighten their color over time. But hey, at least they won't rust! The plastic snap-on screw covers have a glossy finish that doesn't match the hinge. What's up with that? I like the larger diameter self threading screws that were provided. To keep the hinges from wandering about my aluminum posts during installation, I clamped them into place. Using a 1/4" drill bit & the holes in the hinge as my template, I made a very shallow indentation in my post. This provided a recess for a much smaller drill bit, located in the exact center of each hole. The screws went in much easier than the instructions & the hinges never moved! I did not reply to the "Durability" review because they've only been installed for a few days. I'm paying close attention to what the great ball in the sky is gonna do to the finish.
