Very efficient panini maker
This little toaster is amazing! We make a lot of paninis. It heats up very fast and reaches to high temperatures quickly. It does not have any adjustable knob for temperature control which for some might be a downside. For us, it is ok as we onyl use it for the same purpose all the time. I am very surprised to see how practical it is. It is not a heavy machine which I like. So easy to take out and store it away. The ceramic surface is very easy to clean. Size is a little small however it also makes it easy to store. We dropped it from the counter and the handle broke together with another small piece that was keeping the two plates aligned. We can still use it with care but I am thinking about getting another one because I like it so much.

A M A Z I N G !!!
This is my third panini press and I love this one the best! The last two were teflon coated and had to be pitched when the teflon began to wear off. Caution: The ceramic coating IS slippery BUT if you learn how to hold the sandwiches with a utensil during the first flip or two (when lowering the top), once the sandwiches press down a bit, slippery is no longer a problem. This minor inconvenience is worth being able to have ceramic vs. teflon! I expect to get many years use out of this press because of the ceramic. Also, the lid DOES "float". Some reviewers say it doesn't but it does raise up in the back. Not a great amount, but plenty high enough for my paninis which I use generous amounts of sliced lunch meat, cheese slice and sour kraut (that I squeeze the liquid from.) If you like spicy, try coating your bread with mayo, and wiping on a thin layer of pureed chipotle peppers in adobo sauce. I buy the peppers in the Mexican food section of my grocery store. Just empty the can into a little food processor and puree the heck out of them, juice included. TO DIE FOR! A very light skim of the puree gives amazing deli-like flavor and a heavier amount makes them a bit hot and spicy. I like lots! I do flip my paninis maybe 3 or 4 or 5 times while cooking to get that nice, crispy exterior. PARCHMENT PAPER! I put my paninis inside parchment paper which keeps the plates VERY clean and I just quickly wipe the plates off once the press cools off. The parchment paper also makes it super easy to flip the paninis. I just carefully grab the open corners and do a quick flip and whala! No utensil needed to flip. I am SUPER happy with this panini press having been thru 2 others already. It takes maybe 5 minutes to heat up, but it gets plenty hot enough for crispy paninis and I looked up the safety issues with using parchment paper (NOT wax paper!) and it says the parchment paper is totally fine to use in a panini press. I buy the precut sheets which cover the press plates completely. Great price too!

Great press, but no switch.
I was looking all over for a sandwich press that did not use non-stick surface and was happy to find it and I do use it regularly. The only problem is that the only way to turn it on is to plug it in. There is no switch. Dumb design.

Cooks evenly minimal effort
Great panini maker, easy to clean. Cooks evenly and heats up quickly. Able to make a decent size Panini in the griddle area.

Slippery sandwich griller
We bought this to replace a Cuisinart small press in which the coating deteriorated . This press looked to be about the same size which is perfect for two sandwiches. I am very disappointed in it for two reasons. One, is the top only opens up high enough to fit one cardboard thickness piece of bread let alone two regular thickness slices. Two, the surface is very slick and as a result the two slice sandwich slides to the front of the press and tries to leap off! This requires using a spatula or some other tool to keep stuffing it back in. If the lid were designed properly it would be able to accommodate a normal size sandwich without a problem. Unfortunately this product will probably "last forever" and I will be stuck poking it for the rest of my days!!!

I got this today and nowhere I find info on the product sheet saying it has a ceramic tray (which is the reason why I bought it). I read the baking tray is die-cast metal with iron-fluorine non-stick coating. I’ll probably return it.
