Refund for Umarex Gauntlet 2
This PCP airgun is engineered well. I put some gadgets like flashlight and telescope and it looks good. Very accurate at 25 yards. Using a much higher grain of pellet does make some factors in trajectory due to its weight. Pick the minimum and them adjust the rifle scope and you can have an accurate shots. Overall, the rifle is great and lots of power and accuracy using smaller pellet weight. I like this PCP rifle and I highly recommended.

Arrived early and honestly is more power than I expected
At first the gun would not hold air it was leaking through the barrel however I discovered that if I cocked it that it would hold air. Once I got it past 1,000 psi it stopped but when It gets back below the red it will leak until you cock it. This gun is seriously loud and very powerful and extremely accurate at 100 yards. Really impressed by the performance hits hard. Also pretty light.

Dose not fill!!!
Gun refuses to fill. Have tried everything. I purchased the 22 cal, hooked everything up as instructed. Zero pressure build up. It is bleeding out of the barrel and action as soon as it is pumped in. You can hear the hissing of the leaks over the compressor. Will be reaching out to umarex and returning this item. I hat super high hopes for this thing.

Great PCP Air Rifle
I bought this after doing a lot of research about PCP air rifles. I wanted to upgrade from my .22 cal break barrel air rifle to something that would allow me to hunt larger game. I found the SL30 was really well rated and was a great price compared to the cost of getting into other PCP rifles of the same caliber (bullet size and quality). I got this is and the only thing I did before going to shoot it, was to adjust the trigger to my liking. There's tons of youtube videos out there to show mods for this rifle but honestly, it's really great right out of the box. I took it to the range with several different types of slugs and pellets to see which one it likes (If you didn't know, each gun can/will like different brands and weights) and found that I could easily shoot 1/2" groups at 50 yards with this thing. I sighted it in at 50 and pushed back my targets to 100 yards. After I found the drop, I was shooting 12ga shot guns shells off a 2x4 nearly every single shot. This thing is incredible!! You won't be disappointed if you choose to go with this air rifle.

Buy it
What a rifle! Very accurate. Fantastic power. Mine's in 30 cal. It is BIG. It is heavy It is accurate It is powerful Haven't tried slugs yet, but just ordered a half dozen different ones to try. Yes. It shoots great to 100 yards. No so far it's not shooting sub 1 moa at 100 yards, but haven't tuned it yet for any specific projectile. Just cleaned the barrel and shot what I had for pellets. Get a good scope. I am using a Monstrum G3 5-25X50 on adjustable rings. Can hit a dime at 50 yards. Can't wait to hunt with it. Wrapped the air tube with a fake carbon fiber wrap and added a stick on felt in the stock between the tube and stock, stuck to the stock. This really stiffened the stock up for my bipod.

Great value
Got this rifle a couple days ago, and finally got to shoot it today. It arrives with an empty air tank, so the first fill takes a while. Before that first fill, make sure the de-gassing screw is closed tight, as they often don't tighten it up enough at the factory. Also cock the gun before hand, or the valve will probably leak until there is enough pressure behind it to force it closed. After that you won't have to worry about it unless you run the tank empty. The cocking mechanism is buttery smooth, such a delight compared to the original Gauntlet G30 bolt action. I loaded 68 grain slugs with no effort. On my original G30 I could only get maximum 63 grain slugs to load, and that took a good strike of the palm against the bolt handle. The trigger is the same as the original G30, but this one seemed a little smoother to operate. I don't know if that was by design, or just a fluke, but I probably will not make any adjustment to this particular rifle. Be aware that this rifle does not come with any sights at all, so you will need to install a scope, 'red dot', or 'iron sights' on it. I took the scope off my original G30 and put it on this SL30, and loaded up with the same 60 grain slugs I had been using with the G30. I was pleasantly surprised when I hit a spinner at 30 yards with my first shot, the scope hardly needing any adjustment at all. After shooting a few magazines of 60 grain slugs, I switched to 68 grain. A couple clicks for elevation and it was zeroed for 50 yards, my normal shooting distance. This gun can shoot the 68 grain slugs at a maximum of about 900 feet per second. I dialed the speed back to 860 to minimize air usage. At that speed I could shoot about 20 rounds before the regulator began to get fussy. When 'falling off' the regulator, the speed climbed back up to 900 FPS, then fell steadily. I kept shooting until the speed dropped down to 750 FPS, and that took about 40 rounds. Accuracy was about as expected. I usually can shoot 1 inch groups at 50 yards when 'plinking' with my G30. When I take my time I get that down to 1/2 inch usually, in calm air. Today the wind was gusty, quartering up to 20 mph, so I tried to time my shots in between gusts. I still was able to make 1 inch groups so I am happy. As for power, with the 68 grain slugs this rifle reaches 112 foot-pounds at the muzzle, and still has 100 pounds at 50 yards. I use 3/4 inch treated plywood backing on my targets, and these slugs passed through with no problem. Note that this rifle is loud, it is not back yard friendly if you have very close neighbors. I have a moderator (so called 'silencer') so that is not a problem for me, but be warned. I would recommend hearing protection if you do not use a moderator. It is not as loud as a .22 gunpowder rifle, but still quite loud. The only other issue with the SL30 is weight. It is 8 pounds 'naked'. Add a scope, moderator, sling, flashlight and that can climb to 11 pounds real quick. With the big air tank hanging out front, it is forward heavy. That may or may not be an issue for you, but keep it in mind. For me it is not any problem, and in fact it is somewhat of a blessing, helping to keep muzzle rise and recoil down. All in all I am happy, it is what I expected it to be, and the loading is actually better than I expected.

Great deal, hard to beat!
First, I realize this is a PRODUCT review but I want to say that it is Impressive service from UX. Ordered one day and delivered the next. Now about the gun; full featured PCP! Mine came without a flaw. Holds full pressure and is as advertised. It's a big gun with good power. Some edges need to be worked smooth but the overall unit is good. Mine had a loose picatinny rail but was otherwise perfect. The manual is great! The gun is an in the park home run at the price point if it includes 2 magazines.

Disappointed
Going to give you a little sob story. I had my eye on this gun for months. I was initially looking at the original Umarex G2 30 Cal. I watched countless videos on that specific gun, and after three weeks, I noticed that the SL30 came out. After being excited for the prior model for so long and getting close to committing, I pulled the trigger on this one instead. My mistake. This is by far the worst $550 I have ever spent. I had SEVERAL issues with this gun. I got it at 5:30, and worked on it for HOURS to try and get it to work. This item is JUNK. And all of the bad reviews that you see on the tank, trigger, leakage, etc. They’re ALL true. Save yourself a headache and a good chunk of money and get something else. I have a Benjamin Akela, and Armada-.22 & .25. They are the best pneumatic rifles I’ve ever owned and I highly recommend. Might not have as much power as this one, but they work. And I’ll take that over this pos any day. I took at side job over a couple of weekends to have a little extra money to get this gun and I will probably never buy any Umarex product again. I should’ve went with my gut and listened to the bs reviews.
