Great onboard preamps. Misses the mark for expansion
The onboard preamps are nicer than most interfaces. The analog filters are great and I’ve not seen that before on an interface. A lot of external preamps don’t include both low & high filters. The ability to direct monitor & blend that signal with the DAW is nice feature at this price. However, recording drums using line inputs 3/4 were noisy with API preamps. The headphone amp lacked clarity, but wasn’t awful. Lastly, I couldn’t figure out how to get the two onboard preamps to route to the ADAT out nor how to sync to ADAT in for expansion to use more mics on drums. This was almost a great desktop interface. I returned it though due to above issues.
