I test every year, even if I've been with the same women all year. It's not a matter of trust, it's a matter of personal health. I've used this specific product several times, so here's the pros and cons: PROS - Everything you need to test is included (but you need to have access to a clock or timer). - Instructions are very clear, and easy to understand. - Everything is well labeled and easy to open (which are shown in the instructions) - Diagrams and pictures show important steps. - Includes unmarked self-sealing bag for disposal. - Fast results - Support resources available 24/7 (If you need help, or are having difficulty coping with your test results, or just need help with the next steps) CONS - The slide out tray can sometimes slide all the way out RECOMMENDATIONS (DO's and DON'Ts): - DO allow an hour to test. - DO find a private place to test and read your results. - DO take out dental work or dentures at least 45 minutes before testing - DO be mindful of wait time before testing and results - DO NOT eat, drink, smoke, or rinse your mouth for at least 45 minutes before testing - DO NOT test if you don't feel you couldn't handle a positive result, or that you may harm yourself as a result. IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ: It's important that you're mentally prepared to test. If you find yourself saying "I don't know what I'll do if it's positive" or "I don't think I could deal with a positive result" DO NOT TAKE THIS TEST! Visit your local clinic, see your doctor, or have someone you trust be with you when testing. HIV is no longer a death sentence, and the stigma has greatly decreased. It's always a good practice to read the informational booklet on HIV, and have a plan if you test positive. If you ignore all this, and found yourself unprepared for your positive test result, please call their support line, they can help you cope, and even help you with how to notify your sexual partners.

As you know it’s allllllways good to get tested & it’s better for the mind to know you’re clean, & as someone who likes in home rather going to a doctors or a place this test is AMAZING, completely easy the instructions are super easy to follow, takes no more than an hour, this is my go to anytime. I’m sexually active with someone new or even not, the packaging comes nice and protected. It’s always nerve-racking taking the test but coming out. I never thought I would be reviewing an HIV test but here we are. As a severe hypochondriac, I drunk-ordered this test because I realized that I had never been tested for HIV, and was convinced that the single one-night stand I had years ago had left me walking around unknowingly infected. I certainly could have gotten tested for free at a clinic, but if I know myself, I would never get around to it if I wasn't doing it in the privacy of my home, and the $30 is the convenience of that. The test kit was super comforting and replicated the experience you would get in a clinic. It has a molded slot for the test strip while you're waiting, and even instructs you to read a pamphlet about HIV while you wait for your results, and assures you at multiple points that if your results are positive, it's going to be OK. The directions are very step-by-step because if you are getting tested it is a very anxious experience already, and the kit eliminates any worry you might have about using it incorrectly. My result ended up being negative, but I am glad I got tested to eliminate that worry!
