Price features quality.
After years of thinking about purchasing a laser engraver I finally pulled the trigger, so far I am very satisfied. After watching a lot of U tube videos this was my best compromise in price, features, size and quality. Set up and assembly were easy, after adapting my brain to the instruction manual. Utube videos to the rescue. Navigating software was not overly difficult, just dive in and try the different capabilities. I suggest using inexpensive card stock to get started, I used matte board pieces from my collection of stuff. The build quality is fantastic. With all the choice availability the xTool s1 platform with its software complement appeared to be the one for me. Would love to have a co2 laser but to pricey for me.

xTool vs Creality Falcon2
Copied from my one-star review of the Creality Falcon2 Pro S: This is one of those “If I could give zero stars….” situations. My husband ordered the Creality Falcon for me as a Christmas present. It was not easy to set up, especially the top lid with its extremely thin plexi plastic, which was supposed to be aligned, miraculously in very small tracks while also trying to keep the whole thing together. I did finally get it put together, and I was able to do some etching on the sample piece of wood. Then I moved on to installing the rotary so that I could engrave some tumblers. This is where everything went downhill. Once the rotary was in place, I could not get past the flashing green light on the power button. I tried every tip I could find on YouTube and ChatGPT including resetting everything back to the original set up. I called their customer service line for help. I was surprised when someone answered the phone, while they didn’t speak English very well. I was relieved to talk to a human. After 15 minutes, she pointed me to the online chat button on their site and said that I would need to go there to resolve my problem. I made three attempts to sit in the queue for the online chat and finally reached what I assume was a real person. After about an hour waiting for the chat and then getting the live body on the line, every time they asked a question. I answered quickly and then sat waiting and waiting over and over again. This rep could not solve my problem either and said that someone would email me with further instructions. I asked them to call me and they said that wasn’t possible. I have yet to receive an email. I also submitted online support tickets and haven’t received any responses, not even auto generated ones. All around zero stars. I went ahead and ordered a different machine to compare while waiting on a resolution - the Xtool S1 with rotary bundle. The difference is night and day. It came almost fully assembled, is much higher quality, and has decent instructions in the manual. I was very impressed that the rotary kit came with a tape measure and a level too, which the Creality kit did not. The software is much easier and user-friendly. This model doesn’t include a camera, but I love the infrared cross that stays on continuously for lining things up, and corresponding cross in the design center that moves accurately around as you move the laser head. I also love that I can move the laser around with my hand, vs the slow arrow buttons on the Creality. Within a day, I’ve already tested out wood, alloy metal, and coated stainless steel tumblers using the xTool rotary with great success.

Great addition to my home shop and hobbies
I’ve been really impressed with the xTool S1 20W so far. Setup was straightforward and it worked well right out of the box. Cuts are clean, engravings are sharp, and it has plenty of power for wood, leather, and acrylic. The enclosed design feels solid and safe, and the software is easy to figure out even if you’re new to lasers. Overall, it’s been reliable and consistent, and it’s quickly become a go-to tool in my shop. Would absolutely buy it again.

XTool S1- Great Product!
I am so happy I purchased this item! I am still learning to use the X tool, but the possibilities are endless! It was super easy to set up, the software is really easy to use, especially if you have any background using cricket.

Not the greatest of tech support.
I read from many other owners how amazing this tool is, however, I can't say the same. I have tried multiple times in getting it to connect to my phone to use. I have followed the instructions in the manual, spoken to a service support team member, and have followed all instructions as instructed, multiple times. They cannot figure it out and I am left still waiting for a tech support person to contact me to see if they might have a solution. Great to here about those customers who are able to get it working, but if you can't get it connected on your own, don't expect any support any time soon. Still waiting for a solution. I am ready to request a full refund.

Good product with a rocky start.
Watch out, I purchased the bundle that showed everything was included, rotary kit, conveyer belt, and 4 laser types/wattages. No where on the product page does it say the other wattage lasers aren't included. I spent more than I planned but I figured I could get everything at once and it was an early black friday deal. Well only the 40w laser showed up so I contacted the company. Chat support was very slow but when they finally responded I was told that they were included in another bundle, not mine. I provided pictures of them on the product page, along with the included items and features of the S1. They send back another picture but I didn't see that one on the Amazon ad. They said theirs was from the xTool website they don't know what Amazon puts on the listing. It says its the xTool store so I thought it was 1st party affiliated with xTool. Chat said sorry, even though it was listed they wouldn't provide them. It's not the end of the world but this was a pretty big purchase for me, 2200 plus tax isn't cheap. Now I regret buying an xTool product, they seem like a scummy company. I included pictures of the ad because I feel like the company will change the listing to try and avoid litigation. Buyer beware with xTool! Edit: The company contacted me after my review and offered me a discount on purchasing the 2 watt UV laser. I am not happy about having to spend more money to get what I was thinking was part of the bundle. I did increase my rating though because the X1 is working well for leatherette, even two tone. I set my power with the 40 watt to 10%, 300mm and it cuts off the top layer perfectly to show the second layer. The Xtool software was easy to work with and the pinpoint system to enter the size of the item you are working with was easy to understand. The 2nd day of having it unpacked I had engraved/cut leather, wood, and slate.

Be aware you are going to need at least 4x4 of space for the machine. It’s a large piece of equipment, not factoring in the feed table. Great set up. Does so much more than I anticipated.
