Solid Oak flat threshold used to join two floors that are at the same level. Please note this item is made from solid oak so naturally you will see colour variation within the wood and the occasional knot. This is part of the natural beauty of oak.

Review: Good quality oak strip - Bought for filling gap under kitchen door , blends with the new flooring. There was no need to apply staining. This oak is more on the light side so if your flooring is medium to dark oak, then a stain may have to be applied.

**Q: Can this be stained?**
A: The strip of wood is already finished with a coat of varnish.  So it would need sanded first to stained. Best to buy a cheaper bit of wood if your going to stain and varnish it yourself.

**Q: Could someone tell me please if the colour of this item in reality is similar to how it appears online? I would describe it as light oak.**
A: Yes

**Q: How do you fix this to the floor?**
A: Glue to the floor, Gorilla glue works a treat

**Q: is the finish matt or gloss (shiny)?**
A: I would day it's shiny but not obtrusively so, like it's varnished I suppose.

These Solid Oak Pre-Finished (Lacquered) Flat Threshold Mouldings are of good quality and finish. Much easier to cut and fit than metal ones. No fiddly fixing mechanisms, or double sided tape that doesn't stick. Simply glue it down with translucent EverBuild Stixall, or equivalent. The real wood looks so much better than Oak effect metal ones that I have previously purchased. I did have to return one of the two that I bought, due to a noticeable defect in the wood, but got a return. I can recommend both the product, and the Seller.
