This is a must buy if your wanting something to make your own chalk paint, it makes it smooth not like some that is clumpy or gritty... It is a huge bag and last forever. Great value for your money

If you're painting with DIY chalk paint, this is the stuff you want to use. I made a quart batch at a time. So silky smooth. Ingredients: 4 cups latex paint 8 TBS calcium carbonate 4 TBS water I mixed the water and calcium carbonate together then stirred in the pain gradually. This turns out fantastic. Truly fool-proof. I know, a tried a Plaster of Paris recipe and got lumps. No lumps here. I painted my closet doors and then sealed them with a couple of coats of polycrylic.

i used this to make my Chalk Style Paint for my distressing projects. it mixes with the paint well and worked just as i expected. i can now get my chalk paint in whatever color i want and at a fraction of the cost. the leftover paint holds up well in a storage containter with a tight lid.

I use this for making chalk paint. I have been previously using plaster before and this is so much better. It mixes very smoothly, and doesn't clump up when it has been sitting for a few days. ( The best ratio we have found is 3 Tablespoons Chalk, 3 Tablespoons Water, and 3/4 cup of paint.) We also dipped string in the bag, to use for snapping a chalk line for installing shelves. - It worked well for that also.

Finally purchased this to use for chalk paint and it is amazing. I had been using plaster of Paris but was not thriilled with the consistency, mor the ease of mixing. All the best reviews have been with the CC, and they were spot on. The chalk pain t glides on as smoothly as the $40 a quart brands st a fraction of that cost. This 20 lb bag should last me through many painting projects.

It seems like good stuff and the price was excellent. But I've tried to contact the manufacturer 3 times cuz I want to know where the stuff was derived from; its source. I've gotten absolutely no response. Probably would have given it 5 Stars otherwise.

I absolutely love this product for making my own chalk paint. The results were better than I expected. Coverage was great, texture was what you want in a chalk paint and it was easy to make. The recipe for it was on the bag's label, making it convenient. I'll be using this all the time now.
