Where are these flutes built?

American made, headquarters California. Very good quality even if not german origin. Better than I had in public school system 40 years ago, and very reasonably priced!

Is this good sound quality? I play 4 instruments and am looking for a cheap beginner flute to play around on. I don’t want to spend $500+ yet!

Sound quality has a lot to do with the individual and their development of their embouchure. But it sounds clean and bright and was in excellent mechanical condition. I am very satisfied with the price I paid, until I can spend $600-$1000 on A better flute!
