3rd review
Updating my review. We have been using it for several days. Worked well, bag began to come loose after it started to get heavy. I just ordered the Joseph compose container to put food items into so the garbage can will not smell and I can use one bag longer. Will see how this works. Will rdit this review later Updating the last review. Giving it 5 stars, works as described. Bags are staying in place. Taking trash out about once a week. Bags are sturdy and not ripping.. I am using the compost container which is working well. Now need to set up a compose outside and we should be recycling. all the way.

A truly "GARBAGE" can!
I didn't think I could hate a trash can. I mean, most trash cans just sit quietly and do their job, and need not be the object of fury and hatred. Where to begin? First, the 'compactor' feature of this can does nothing. Crushes nothing. Compacts nothing. It's completely useless and you'd be better off just shoving the trash down with your hands like everyone does when they don't want to take out the trash yet. Second, it's narrow. The cubic space of this can is much smaller than the average can. And since the compactor feature does nothing but get in the way and tear up the bag, you can't even really crush the trash so that the bag holds more. I've gone through twice as many bags as usual in the week I've owned this can. Third. They say you can use any bag with it. Sure. You can. But the crushing mechanism is designed to also 'hold the bag' in place. It tears up other bags that aren't the specific bags this can came with. Especially if you try to use the 'compactor'. (I've quit trying at this point.) And lastly, the lid mechanism broke the first day we had it. It still opens the lid, but now the lid won't close all the way and the 'slow close' feature no longer works so the lid just slams down. If it weren't such a pain to clean and pack this thing back up for return I'd do it. But putting any more energy into this stupid can isn't even worth getting $180 back. Overview: PROS: It's pleasing to look at. CONS: LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE!

I'm happy!
This trash can is exactly what I wanted. No more stinky trash, and I don't have to wait for my husband to pack the trash down to fit more! Funny what will make your day!

Honestly? Not worth the $$$ When I could get robot for $69
I got this for my wife for Christmas I think two years ago? So we have had our share and time with it. When I initially ordered this? I thought it was like one I had at the place I was staying in LA. They had one with an electric trash compactor, that turned your trash into WALL-E cubes. This is NOT electric? This is like your great great grandmothers sewing machine you that was powered by her pumping her feet. This is all hand powered and it even says? Don't be putting anything but paper in here! It's not a magic pop can crusher or anything like that? With that in mind? PROS 1.) The touch free foot pedal is nice and we use it all the time? But my cousin Kip got a garbage can that opens via motion and opens automatically. I asked him how much his was? He said he got ripped off with a $69 price tag. I went into the other room and wept LIKE Joseph. 2.) Sturdy. We'll kind of? See cons. I def think Indy could survive a nuke in this thing. CONS 1.) the crushing crusher deal is pretty worthless. 2.) Custom liners are a pain. Not much else fits. (Regardless of what internet says. 3.) it arrived dented and it continues to dent. Very easily with little poke dents (see pic) 4.) It's very difficult to clean. You need to use special steel cleaners and even then? It does not look nice when you are done. 5) Filter cover at top? Love to try and kill it's self? Via jumping into trash. It's truly a miracle I've noticed each time.

Not bad
Keeping the bag attached to the mechanism that you crush it with is difficult, keeps coming off. Over all I like it, did not give it a great number of stars, the price is high and the bag does not like to stay attached, but I do like it over all

GOOD PURCHASE
The Titan trash compactor works perfectly with the custom liners, not so much with standard kitchen garbage bags. I found that standard bags (I tried Husky) are made to stretch, which makes them less compatible with the compacting feature. The more trash is compacted, the more the bag stretches, thins, and tears. Standard bags also tend to stretch and tear around the mechanism. The custom liners are made of stronger plastic, and they are not stretchy. They maintain their size without stretching and tearing as trash is compacted. Bottom line: the Titan is a good product, with good design and good functionality with the custom liners. If you intend to use standard bags, get a standard can.

Don't.
Hands down the dumbest purchase I have ever made . I've taken my time to evaluate it and waited at least six months to post a review, so I don't say this lightly: Don't buy this compactor. The form is nice enough, but the function is lacking. The foot pedal is... capricious. More often than not, it doesn't work properly. The lightweight plastic (and easily breakable) parts on the interior feel like an odd choice for an item designed to CRUSH things. It might as well be made of glass. I am not trying to compact granite here... Just ordinary recyclables. Paper, plastic, and the occasional soda can. No extraordinary use or treating it roughly -- it just sucks at its job. Bottom line. Okay, so it's a terrible compactor. But how is it just as a trash receptacle? Also terrible. The bags -- which are proprietary and can't just be picked up on your normal grocery run -- don't stay in place. A $200 trash can should be able to hold onto a bag. Yes, $200. Since prices can change, I should note that that's what I paid. At that price, a functional electric compactor would be a good buy, even if it didn't last as long as more expensive ones might. ... Except it's not electric. Oops. I was looking at this listing along with several others that were electric and can only assume I got confused at time of purchase. That was a huge mistake on my part. I can't fathom why anyone would include "Intelligent" in the name of an item that isn't Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth enabled when it's a word used so commonly in advertising for that purpose, but that's an issue for another day. Despite the item name, there is nothing intelligent about this -- unless you're the seller, I guess. Ultimately, my poor decision isn't the seller's fault. It's my responsibility to pay attention to the details. So I gave it a chance and have regretted the purchase. I have since read some more of the positive reviews and cannot understand how we can possibly be reviewing the same product. Not a viable compactor, nor even a trash can. What, then, is the point of this thing? I am still considering that. Maybe it can be a planter? It's too big to be a paperweight, and I refuse to send it to landfill. Time will tell. The only thing that is certain is whatever use I may find for it will have nothing to do with either trash or compacting.

Don't buy. Its a dud!!!
Edit: Jun-2025. In about 18 months the foot pedal has stopped working to push the lid fully up. It will open the lid about 25% of the way and then we have to use our hands to open it up fully and throw in the garbage. Reducing 1 more star for the wild claim of testing 100,000 times. Given the exorbitant money paid at this stage would suggest not to buy it! We were initially very excited thinking the compacting function would reduce the number of trips we did to the garbage bin. Unfortunately the normal trash bags do not stay within the can very well. Each time you push the lever down to compact teh bags come off the edges or they embed within the garbage and you are forced to stick your hands in the crap and pull the edges out and wrestle to align them again. It's becoming a PITA and after a month we are foregoing the compacting function and just hoping to use it as a normal dustbin. Waste of money!!!
