Be patient.
I purchased this oil to use as a perfume by placing a drop on my wrists (day and night) and one on my forehead (night). also use it to cleanse myself or space of any negative energy. I can't really burn the Palo Santo sticks in my room because it'll set off my smoke alarm. It's very potent, first getting a whiff of burning rubber and turpentine mixed with a bit of mint. i thought "great, it smells terrible. I have to return it. after about 15-20 minutes, I smelled my wrists and thought "ah, there goes that sweet familiar smell". I feel very calm and relaxed now. I'm very happy with my purchase and now plan on purchasing all my EO's from Plant Therapy. Thank you for making your oils affordable yet high quality.

Great product (and a room spray tip)
When I order a product I always read the lowest reviews first, and I ordered this a little concerned about reviews saying this smelled like gasoline. DON’T BE CONCERNED! I’ve compared it to what I know to be Palo Santo resin (what gives Palo Santo it’s fragrance) and Palo Santo wood and it’s a match. I wanted to take a moment to explain the “gasoline” smell referred to. The essential oil (and the Palo Santo tree) contains terpenes from the wood. This is a natural oil. Those terpenes evaporate rather rapidly, especially in the appropriate quantities used to produce a pleasant level of scent. This particular essential oil is PURE and it only takes a small amount to do the job. I’ve used residue from the rim of the bottle directly on my wrist and it does take a few minutes for the terpenes to evaporate to leave you with that wonderful fragrance you’re looking for, but using this straight out of the bottle and onto your skin isn’t really putting it to its best use and can cause irritation to those with sensitive skin. To dilute this to a level that I found strong but appropriate for my taste to scent my pillows and rooms (and wrists) I bought a mister (you can use a mister, atomizer, or spray bottle) and used about 2.5 ounces of 91% isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, 10-12 drops of Palo Santo essential oil from this supplier, and stirred. If you want something clear in your sprayer for aesthetics you can stop here and use it, but for the first minute what you will smell is alcohol evaporating. After that you get the lovely light sweet notes of Palo Santo. I prefer mine diluted even further with an ounce or so of water. Be forewarned, though that this changes your purely clear spray slightly milky because of the way the oil particles suspend in the water. That said, the oil and the water DO MIX. You’re able to integrate them by use of the 91% isopropyl. I hope this puts any concerned minds at ease and is helpful!

Update: I love it!!
Did not enjoy the diesel scent that it first throws off. I applied it on a few things . At first it’s the diesels scents . A while after if gives off the palo santo scent . I’m not sure if this is normal? This is my first time purchasing . I bought this for my candles , but after the test I didn’t want to waste a batch of candles not knowing if I would get the achieved scent I wanted Update: I made the candles . The scent seem faint .. disappointed, I sat them aside . so after a while of letting the candle sit for a week undecided what to do with them.. I decided to keep them for personal use . Added a few herbs to them .. Well the palo Santo scent came in strong! I was so shocked! So I guess it needs soMe day for things to balance out. I used them during meditation and the palo Santo had a great smell . I was so shocked how strong the scent was . I love it . This is not my second order. I will be redoing the candles in a different wax and see how it comes out

Recommend, good quality
I only have used this in a diffuser. The scent is accurate but very strong, even 1 drop in a small room can be overpowering. I prefer the smell of burning the Palo Santo sticks but this is a very close alternative. Effectively cleans the air quickly.

The only brand of palo santo I will buy
Good quality product. I dont know why their bottles release the EO, but I wrap this in foil and a ziplock bag and seal it into its own plastic container to prevent evaporation. It's true palo santo oil.

Don't buy the Palo Santo, it STINKS! Like turpentine!
I'd had this in my wish list for months then finally couldn't resist any longer so I ordered it, and waited in eager anticipation to start blending into my own fragrance blend. I'd read some of the poor reviews saying it smells like turpentine, but with an average 4.5 star reviews, I figured the negative ones were the exception not the rule. Boy was I wrong!!! As soon as I opened it and took a whiff, I smelled turpentine. Even though the ad says "non-returnable", there was no way in H-ee-double hockeysticks I was going to pay that much $$ for a bottle of turpentine. So I called Amazon customer service and thankfully they issued a refund. I'm gonna order a different brand of Palo Santo oil. I thought this one would've been good because it's the most expensive and I want quality oil, BUT THIS IS TURPENTINE!!! BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Grounding and warm scent. Complex and lovely.
I read through so many reviews on Palo Santo oil, this brand and others. I've never smelled it before, so I have nothing to compare but wow, this smells wonderful! Out of the bottle it smells a bit different than when you actually use it, so dont judge by sniffing the bottle alone. I put some on my diffuser bracelet made of lava rock and it smells complex, earthy, warm, and very "grounding". If you've ever smelled white sage burning and felt that grounding feeling before, it's similar to that. I bought it to mix with the lotion I make, haven't tried it yet but I have high hopes it'll turn out wonderful. I think combing it with vetiver or Frankincense might be nice, I'll be trying that too. Buy a small bottle of this, you will not regret it!
