Bought it to replace on older hinge that had snapped and broke off. Installation was easy and straightforward, took me around 45-60 minutes to install by myself (only replaced one side) New spring adds additional tension that helps the attic door snap close. Definitely recommend for those older attic ladders (mine was installed in ‘89).
