Hi I noticed that the price has when up on this item from $18.19 to $23.65. I was wondering if it was going to back down any time soon? Thanks!

You may have noticed that price changes happen constantly on Amazon. I used to think it had to do with stock on hand. I now think they are using an algorithm that does “dynamic pricing”, like concert tickets sellers use. Who knows what parameters they use. With Ticketmaster, the faster tickets are sold, the more the price goes up. Supply and demand principles. To Ticketmaster’s credit, at least they are transparent about their use of it, and even have link to an explanation of their use of it on their website.  When shooting Amazon, unless it is something I need right away, I usually save it to a list, adding a note with the date and the then-current price, and also put the item in my cart, then move it to the “save for later” list on the cart page. When you do this, every time you look at your cart, it will tell you which items on that list have had a price change, up or down, and the amount. I then wait for the price to go down. About a year ago, I saved over $130 on a larger ticket item. That was definitely worth the wait. Also, if you are a Prime member, you must realize the free shipping isn’t really free. A little of the price is due to this, especially on cheaper items. It’s like buying a bottle of aspirin at a corner store cost more than at a drug store, which costs more than at a big box store. You pay for convenience.  Even though Amazon denies that it has implemented one the more insidious aspects of dynamic pricing: different customers seeing & being charged different prices for the exact same product, based upon the analysis of all sorts on data, collected by aggregation services who data-mine the internet for such information (thanks a lot, Facebook), even including psychological theories regarding shopping and buying behaviors.  If you are not familiar with the concept and usage of “Dynamic Pricing”, do yourself a favor, look it up and educate yourself about it (from a legitimate, reputable & reliable news source, please).  It is a very interesting concept, and may even get you thinking about how much and what type of Federal regulation of the internet  is needed.

how old are these?

As stated in the previous answer, they arrived good to eat, they weren't old.  We threw them off of a Mardi Gras float and several of our kids actually ate some. They were fine.  They are just as cheap at SAMs club but packaged in smaller qty. which is a good thing as I ordered 12+ boxes from Amazon and 10 were damaged candy was fine but the boxes were torn/falling apart.
