I couldn't find 8" bottom snare hoops so I wasn't sure how I was going to attach snare wires to the bottom. I also wanted to avoid having to drill the drum. This item literally just clips on to any drum hoop. This is not as strong of a snare sound as having full snare wires across the bottom, however for the convenience it works pretty damn well. I may get another to attach to the other side to add a little more snare sound but it really isn't bad, especially considering the convenience.
