Pros - it’s lightweight and does work. Included screws and screw driver. Didn’t require drivers for Windows 11 on Dell Latitude E seriesCons - item is extremely fragile and can be easily bent or even ruined. The black plastic face plate (cover?) doesn’t fit the contours of my laptop but I understand it’s designed for universal compatibility. My main issue with the item is it’s hard to insert and harder to remove and lacks a lock/eject button like the CD drive featured.It was about six bucks with tax and I would have returned it if were priced any higher. I’ve bought similar items before and recall them being a lot nicer. It should be fine unless I have to remove it again, I’m not sure it will survive another removal.

This caddy was shipped in thin packaging that clearly also fits 12.7mm drives, as the packaging just crushes itself. The metal is so thin just handling it through normal shipping will completely wreck it. The drive door cover was broken off. Sadly I wouldn't care about cosmetics at all since it goes inside a PC, but it wouldn't even fit into the bay from damage.

I've been looking for and Ultra Bay caddy for purposes of second hard drive for my ThinkPad T61, which is now my Linux Server. I used to own an IBM caddy, unfortunately, I donated it, thinking I'd never own a ThinkPad again. As they say, "Never say Never." Long story short, another T61 made its way to me and with a few minor upgrades, I turned it into my Linux Enterprise Server. Hence, I've been looking for a hard drive caddy for the Ultra Bay for a couple years, with little to no success. And I really looked everywhere, ordered, didn't work and ended up returning them.Now I came across this one. It fits the Ultra Bay perfectly. It can handle a 2.5" hard drive. I have a Seagate Hybrid SSD in the caddy. The only issue and it's minor but the face plate is the wrong design. Again, minor issue, that a little bit of MacGyvering should be able to fix.If you're in the market for a second hard drive caddy for your T61, this is. great product.

I revived a old laptop with it, very easy to install, now the laptop has 2 hard disks instead of obsolete CD ROM

I used on a PC that only had one SSD slot and I could use this SATA converter for the boot drive on a Proxmox installation while leaving my one SSD slot for images for virtual installations. Works great! No adjustment needed to bios in my case. Would buy again!
