What are the pounds for this size? I've purchased the XL for my 250 lb. mother but she says they are too big.

I really don't know. My wife is 5'1" tall and about 160 pounds. She has used the large size for three or four years. Before the recent purchase she thought she would try the XL, so we purchased a small package and she found the XL much too large. Since height, weight and body shape impact what size is comfortable, it is my guess the manufacture of Depends chose to size by waist measurement (i.e. L = 38-50 inch waist) for a comfortable fit.
