Is there any way to use this product with an existing cedar cigar box without a lot of room?

I put it on a sponge in an open plastic sandwich bag works fine

Do you need to buy anything else with this item? I see there's also the liquid solution and wasn't sure if they needed to be purchased together or not

You can use that solution or you can use distilled water. The crystals in the tube swells when u add liquid. Some tubes come pre- treated and ready to use. If the crystals are hard you have to add solution. If crystal are already swelled it's ready to use.

is this the 50/50 solution or the thinner stuff xikar recommends in there humidifiers?
