DecoArt 2 Ounce, Pewter Extreme Sheen Paint, 2 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)

This is wonderful Acrylic gold paint. It has lots of subtle sparkle without being glittery, and can be layered on thin or thick. When painting with a small liner brush for lettering highlights, dotting it on with frequent reloads makes the most of its dazzle. The ‘other’ brand on black worked badly using a small brush but 24k was much more manageable. Using a water brush with minimal water also works for smooth lines. It really pops on darker paper with that real gold brilliance but is also lovely on white. It dries really quickly as do most acrylics. I have included a swatch of another brand, also lovely but with more of a shimmering gold than brilliant so it depends on the look you’re going for. Both paints only used a tiny squirt to paint the swatches and I had a bit left over. Deco Arts 24k felt a bit smoother to work with than others, especially on wood. The included photo shows blowup of plaque with lettering on wood and Deco Arts 24k rubbed on metal with a paper towel which gave it a nice effect, especially under light. Also I painted swatches on 140 lbs watercolor paper and 64 lb. black. Another perk in using acrylics; I use lids off plastic cartons as paint palettes so paint left to dry can be peeled off and used in my jewelry. If pieces are flaked off, they look like gold leaf when put under glass cabs or when completely dried, lifted off and can be cut into shapes, so never any waste. When I need a heavier gold paint for particular applications, I’ll definitely reach for this one!

I am a mixed media artist and generally paint using Golden acrylic paint which is the best of the best. However, I saw this paint demonstrated on a YouTube video demonstrating the gold Deco Art Extreme Sheet Paint used on a gel plate and decided to try it out. The paint is rather sheer so you need two coats of this makes a perfectly gorgeous background color that appears to be solid gold. While, I like the flexibility of being able to make a sheer coat as well, I purchased this paint with the intention of using it to create the solid gold look so considered giving this 4 stars instead of 5. However, this is a craft paint and most craft paints are thinner so I chose not to knock off the star. I can not speak to whether this paint is light fast because I have not had it long enough to test that out. But I like this paint so much I have used it all up and purchased another bottle and one in another color to try out.

I loved the color, it shines like real gold and looks so pretty on my crafts. The only thing is you need to do a few coats to get it nice and even because one layer doesn’t cover much. But once you finish, it looks amazing. I’d definitely use it again for more projects.

Great color match for jadeite enamel on an old appliance. Took a lot of coats but that wasn't a problem for this application. It hides a very visible chip.

It says extreme sheen but it’s just a satin and it’s a bit too white than silver.

Ik heb het gebruikt voor pouring paint. Deze kleur springt er echt bovenuit. Is wel erg dun dus geen water toevoegen.

Great paint. Looking forward to trying few more colours
