Gave my engine’s lungs a shower — and now it breathes like a champ. I grabbed this MANNOL Intake Valve Cleaner because my van’s engine was beginning to grumble, cough, and act like it was trying to sing for help every time I stopped at traffic lights. The intake tract was probably uglier than my DIY paint jobs. One spray later, and I swear the engine took a deep, relieved breath. All that built-up soot, oil and carbon – you know, the stuff that accumulates on idle valves, throttle-bodies and intake passages – dissolved like it got an eviction notice. After a short run at idle (as per instructions), the rough idling and hesitation vanished. Things started smoother, the idle steadied, and the revs responded properly — no more lag when pressing the clutch or gunning the throttle. Pros: Cleans carbon, oil, resin and soot from intake valves and throttle areas without needing to dismantle the intake. Can improve idle smoothness, throttle response, and fuel-air flow — good for older engines or ones that get stressed often (like vans doing plumbing runs). Simple spray-on application. Quick job, minimal faff compared to a full intake teardown. Potential caveats: It’s a strong aerosol (contains solvents) — so don’t be messing about with painted plastics or bare paint around the engine bay when spraying. You still need to follow instructions (engine temperature, revs, after-spray run) — otherwise you’ll get less benefit. Five stars. If your engine’s breathing feels clogged, this cleaner is like a plumbing snake for your intake — it clears the crap, gets airflow flowing, and makes everything run smoother.

I use it since 2017 every 6 months to clean up the throttle gate for my subaru WRX and jeep wrangler does the job well
