First, Amazon shows the product size under technical information to be "30 x 20 x 9 inches". This is absolutely wrong. This is the size of the shipping container--not the bump step ("Hitch Armor"). As shown in one of the technical drawings/diagrams on the Amazon website, the bump step is actually about 26 x13 x 6 inch. This was further confirmed to be accurate from Tyger Auto's customer service organization, which was actually superb (see below). This item is competitively priced with products from other manufacturers/dealers--including the best-advertised and best-selling bump step. HOWEVER, unlike the best-advertised and best-selling bump step, this bump step is all powder coated steel--not plastic. As standard equipment, this manufacturer supplies powder coated steel stabilizing parts and a lock also powder coated. First and foremost, all top quality construction even though there is a problem with the lock (see below), which forced me to use a very reliable 30-year-old-American-made lock from Fuller. Installation was easy for the bump step and the stabilizing parts. With the bump step, stabilizing parts, and the Fuller lock all installed, everything is rock solid and dead quiet during driving. Here is the problem with the Tyger Auto lock. My brand new SUV has an SUV-manufactured and SUV-installed trailer hitch. In other words, all OEM--no ifs, ands, or buts. Each side of the 2" receiver/receiving tube/sleeve is reinforced by the SUV maker with a welded plate about 3/32" - 1/8" thick. Because of the reinforcements and the Tyger Auto supplied lock's straight 5/8" shaft/pin is only 3-1/2" long, the locking mechanism cannot fully seat and cannot be engaged--making the Tyger Auto supplied lock useless for my vehicle. Tyger Auto does not supply a lock with a longer shaft/pin. Therefore, my Fuller lock with its 5"+ shaft/pin does the trick. Finally, the customer service support via the website's dialog box worked superbly. With questions from me about the lock and also needing some clarification on the size of the product and installation, Tyger Auto got back to me in hours with practical and easy-to-understand information. Top notch customer service!

This is a very nice bumper guard. Heavy duty with a great coating that gives it a nice nonslip texture when using as a step. Perfect fit into the hitch and a very nite lock and U bolt to secure and keep in place while driving. This is well worth the price for the protection it provides.

I like this product so far, it’s very easy to install and fit perfectly. looks great, no rattle, overall very sturdy build. I got this because I tend to back up everywhere I go and wanted a little protection. It does a great job keeping people from getting close. I do wish it was a-little thicker and heavier, it feels a bit hallow inside, it especially needs more reinforcement around the mount area. But for the price, this is a good purchase.

Fast delivery. Great packaging. Easy install with easy instructions to follow. Product seems very sturdy & durable. The key hitch lock & hitch stabilizer are necessary accessories for this item. Now I’ll be able to clean the top rear of my vehicle. Main reason for this purchase is for rear bumper protection for the distracted drivers. ONLY uncertainty is how this rear bump step will be if or when it gets hit (my hope is not). I prefer to use this as my former reason mentioned. I believe the value of the product will depend on how the seller supports the consumer with any product/ accessory claims after an accident.

Makes a good front bumper also, I used Tyger bumpers and skid plate along with front receiver mount from Curt on my FJ Cruiser. Looks great and very functional. Can change step for winch as needed. 2 simple 1 inch trimming on the bumper and bolted right up. 2 corner trims on the skid plate and it fit like it was made for it. The step lined right up and looks mean. bottom of hitch mount frame protects bottom of radiator and adds tons of strength.

Solid feel, excellent fit and finish. Takes up a substantial amount of real estate on my Maverick but works great and really helps when loading bikes onto the truck bed bike racks.

This Tyger hitch came very well packaged in the shipping box with no scratches and/or dings. The appearance looks "indestructible" but I hope that it will not be put to the test by someone rear ending me! Although, I feel that more damage would be to the other vehicle if that was to ever happen! I did not have to use the hitch stabilizer or lock pin that was included, for I used my existing locking hitch pin & internal hitch anti-rattle device. However, if you do not have these (2) devices already, it is comforting to know that Tyger provides you with everything you need with this hitch! I have a 2018 RAM 2500 Cummins Diesel & I've had at least (3) different styles of "hitch step/rear bumper guards" prior & I feel that this Tyger Hitch has both the rugged look/quality that I have been searching for. It is just long enough to provide both rear bumper protection and adequate "step" to assist in truck bed access but does not block any rear camera areas. I honestly have nothing but positive feedback!

Was looking for something to keep vehicle protected in case of a rear end collision. Before I had a chance to decide, my truck was rear ended by a distracted driver while I was sitting at a traffic light...not a good feeling. Bumper damaged, insurance repaired no fault or cost to me. If I had this in place, bumper would not have been touched, majority of hit was in my hitch receiver area. This product matches my front bull bar nicely. Fit and finish are excellent...nice clean welds, sits square, tube bends are symmetrical, textured finish is clean and perfect...feels heavy and strong. Very well packaged as well. Due to road salt use, I coated mine in Krown rustproofing spray and greased the draw bar portion to prevent seizing. Will be using this year round of course. Of all the products I researched, I highly recommend this one. Hopefully will not experience a rear end impact again...once was one too many for anybody. Depending who hits you and what they are driving, I can see heavy damage to their vehicle as a result. My thought on that...if you are not paying attention at the wheel, you deserve what you get from impacting this well built unit!!!

Very impressed with the solid quality of this step. Powder coated to withstand rust. Sturdy mounting to the truck. I can stand on it to reach above and will offer good protection from any inattentive drivers coming too close. Happy I noticed this Tyger hitch step, almost bought something made in China. These China made products sometimes look good in photos but rarely stand up to quality made products made in the US (or Canada if I could find one). I would highly recommend this to anyone who appreciates good quality. It’s worth every cent I paid and to think the China made option was just as expensive.

All pieces are high quality ! The lock is very well protect and will last forever. Weight is around 15lbs. Shipping to Canada was 4 days.

This is an easy install and the included bracket removes any movement. The added locking pin ensures it is not easily removed. Powder coating seems of decent quality however given southern Ontario's winter use of brine and salt before I installed the guard I spent sometime spraying the inside (as best I could) with Krown rust protection spray and coated the exterior with wax. While it functions extremely well (I can access the roof of the 4Runner for cleaning/securing items) it is intended to protect the bumper from the texters and inattentive drivers.
